This place is brilliant! Amazing service, polite and helpful staff. The food is well cooked and flavorful, the sushi is fresh and delicious. We came up from Liverpool for a weekend away and found this place by chance, we could not have been happier! Just over £50 for 3 sushi, two large bowls of ramen and two beers! Amazing!

Visited the place last week with friends and got to know that the ownership has recently changed.Well , the difference was quite clear . Despite the place being super busy as it's already a hit we got very warm welcome and attention . The staff were friendly and helped us to understand and browse through the menu in order to select the best possible options based on our taste.Once the food arrived , I couldn't get enough of it . It was so delicious and impeccable that I called on chef to compliment him personally.Got a chance to meet the new owner and she's a delight as well. All in all , a must visit place .

KOYAMA is a vibe. 10/10Visited tonight and came to know that it is now under new ownership and with a lovely new team. Despite the restaurant being super busy, our group received the most warm, friendly and genuine welcome and attentive service that I have seen for a long time!!The food was absolutely delicious, with beautiful garnishes, homemade sauces and edible flowers. I would say by far the best sushi I have had in Edinburgh .Would highly recommend the seared seabass sashimi with truffle oil and ponzu and the chefs signature sushi selection. The sukiyaki is served over flame and a generous portion size. The takoyaki, gyoza and salads were on point. The Kobata Senju sake paired beautifully with the food. Can't wait to come back...... thank you KOYAMA team <3

Visited Koyama for a family reunion recently, was not disappointed. Welcomed by friendly, efficient staff as soon as we entered the restaurant. Extensive menu, excellent selection of wines and beverages. The food was amazing, fresh and flavoursome. Feel we have found a gem of a restaurant and we will be back for sure.

I would say the food is more of a Japanese/Chinese fusion - nether the less the food was still delicious

So yesterday was my birthday and knowing I was headed to the big city, I wanted to forfill a chance at trying sushi. I found Koyama on my walkabout around Edinburgh, and jumped at the chance to try sushi from a genuine restaurant. I am not a connoisseur when it comes to sushi, but looking through the menu I found an appealing picture and the description stated mackerel and cucumber, which for me seemed a safe known choice to me. It only took me a few minutes but I was able to get used to using chopsticks to eat the whole meal on my first attempt without feeling like an idiot. It was really raining hard, so also gave me a safe haven for an hour. Come visit, nice homely and friendly place.

Food was pretty good. Not totally authentic though… service was above average. Definitely would recommend it if you’re in the area.
