Living on past glories. We normally use one of two traditional chip shops north of Edinburgh . thought we’d revisit here but it was £19.90 for a special fish supper and one special fish. Equivalent four miles away is £12.10 .The fish here was good but no better and the chip portion was meagre and pretty dry.In hindsight, not surprised how quiet it was

After the Calcutta cup game my son brought a poke of chips home for me. The chips were mix of normal size but lots of tiny one sscraps almost and the colour was deep brown, Either over cooked or the fat was old and should have been replaced. So be careful tell whoever is buying for you not to buy if far too brown in colour.

Good portion, good quality of haddock, good taste! I like the fact that some food (I didn't search them all, but the haddock, chips and steak pie) are sourced from local.Would like to try something new next time!

Not sure why this place is highly spoken of. Soggy fish. Scampi was meh. White pudding wasn’t horrendous. Chips were soggy and about half the size of a portion you’d expect for the price paid. Scarily it was all fresh out the fryer. Hate to think what the stuff in the hot holder would be like. Resting on their laurels of previous awards it would seem.

Ordered Special Breaded Haddock and Chips for delivery. probably the best fish an chips I have ever had from a Fish and Chip takeaway. Cannot rate it highly enough. The fish was huge and crispy obviously well cooked it arrived hot with the chips promptly. Well done!

Unacceptably high prices, in my opinion. Ordered a large chips and a side of halloumi fries and it came to £12. The portion size of the "large" chips would be what most chippies would call a normal, and the halloumi fries (about 5-6 slithers) were meagre and tasteless. Shocked and disappointed

The fish and chips were a mixed bag - the fish was fresh with a wonderful crispy batter on the outside. The chips were very underwhelming (at least if you like crispy chips) and have no crunch whatsoever - but in fairness they don't hide this since the pictures on the menu quite clearly suggest that the chips are of the non-crispy variety.

The one tip is that if you want to eat-in they typically let people take their food to the pizza place next door as it’s owned by the same person. The fish and chips IS indeed really good. Its really fresh and probably the best fish I’ve had so far in the UK.
