La Locanda Italian Bistro in Edinburgh

Hidden gem in Edinburgh. A cozy little Italian restaurant. The staffs, Marina and Louis were super friendly. Had the pappardelle ragu and it was amazing. Highly recommend.

Just managed to fit in a dinner here before catching a train.So pleased I did. A vibrant welcoming atmosphere and an interesting menu with specials.The whole thing run by young, enthusiastic people learning things in a great team environment.Genuinely interested in and wanting to please their variety of customers.Great food much care given to drinks too.Maybe the highlight of several the proud Italian/Sicilian lady with an amazing Scots/Italian accent speaking English.Hope to return some time soon.

A must if you are in Edinburgh! I would recommend booking as they have limited seating but the restaurant is lovely and intimate with a great looking bar gin selection. The staff are really great, professional , attentive and personable. The food was absolutely delicious and authentic!

Amazing food. Brilliant service. Great atmosphere. What a find, me and my wife loved everything about this place we will definitely be returning on our next visit to Edinburgh.

2 weeks ago we visited La Locanda Edinburgh. I will leave 5 stars. This was the best restaurant we have visited in Edinburgh and one of the best meals we have ever had. The atmosphere was pleasant. The staff were very friendly and kind. I wish good luck and prosperity to this restaurant😊

My husband and I went here for dinner last night and it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. The atmosphere was pleasant and almost home-y. We shared the meatballs (AMAZING), I had the pasta with meatballs (equally amazing) and my husband had the lasagna (20/10 according to him). Dessert was equally fabulous (the brownie and affogato). We both highly recommend! Everyone was so nice and welcoming; we’ll be back before our vacation is over!

Amazing!!! Went for Valentine’s Day dinner… very accommodating to my gluten and dairy intolerances and wen’t above and beyond to make sure I was aware of the many options I could choose from on the menu. We shared one of the specials starters - the mussels (with gluten free bread made from scratch!), my boyfriend had the ravioli for his main and I had gluten free beef ragu pasta. Great selection of drinks and a beautiful restaurant/atmosphere. Thank you to all the staff!

Don’t let the tiny space put you off - proud of making all their own food from scratch including their own gluten free bread (delicious!) the food and service was lovely. Proper Arancini just like in Italy and wonderful meaty meatballs.

Not just the best restaurant we've been to in Edinburgh but quite possibly the best Italian I've ever had.Wonderful setup in a nice small setting - phenomenal specials and the staff were fantastic (particularly Jason) - very friendly yet professional which added to the experience.Really stunning food and worth the price. 10/10 would recommend.
