Perhaps Not Good for FamiliesWhile visiting Edinburgh with another family (4 adults 4 children) we asked in the bar of our hotel for a good restaurant and was suggested loch fyne by some locals, we were lucky enough to call up and reserve a table for 7pmNot knowing what the parking situation was like we arrived early at 6:40 and where quickly seated, the waiters where very attentive and polite and took our orders promptly and drinks where swiftly delivered. However one hour later none of us had our mains including the children who by this time where starting to become extremely restless and hangry (ages ranging from 2 - 9 )my friend asked the front of house where our food was and was explained that a group of 18 had arrived 30mins after us and they where a bit busy.one and a half hours later the food arrived and although tasty was for some reason luke warm. After a busy day out and with tired kids we left without dessert or asking for the kids meal deal dessert. The guy running front of house was very professional and polite and resolved our concerns at payment giving some compensation for the delay.I will come back in the future because i could see the food was made well and to a high standard, the place was well furnished and comfortable and in the summer i expect there are great views of the harbour perhaps this was a one off....

The best fish and chips ever! Spectacular views and really friendly staff. The kids absolutely loved the variety on the kids menu. Double scoop ice-cream was super generous. A must visit if you're in Edinburgh.

Absolutely love this restaurant. I could recommend it to anyone! Best fish and seafood I’ve had in Edinburgh with prices that reflect portions size and quality. The ambiance is brilliant and their drink recommendations are always amazing. We’ve been here several times this past year and have always left pleasantly sated and happy. The views are so wonderful. The staff go above and beyond and truly you with kindness and familiarity. They give you honest opinions on the food and what they think would make a good match for you. They’re funny and incredibly proud of the ambiance they create and the food they prepare and serve. It’s become a tradition to come here for any and all celebrations (and just because). Can’t wait for summer and to sit outside again.

Beautiful and pleasant place. Excellent fish soup, as well as smoked cod and truffle cake at the end - delicious. The staff constantly took care of us. I can only recommend

Exactly as we'd hoped. Welcoming staff, quick to attend and advise, salt & pepper squid, so tasty, fish mixed grill & Seafood risotto, absolutely delicious. Coconut rice pudding with kiwi & ginger jam what a great combination. Gin cocktails were fabulous, table service by Jason, a delightful happy character whose advice on dishes was expertly impassed.

What started as a quick menu enquiry soon turned into a table for 2. The choices were all very tempting, so we decided to go all out with 'nibbles', starters, mains and desserts. It seemed extremely decadent, but such was the quality of the delicious plates of food going out.We fancied olives and Hallomi Fries and they were a tasty appetiser. The king scallop starters were delicious and juicy, sweet and fresh, served on a hearty bed of Fregula (rolled pasta). Little hits of sweet, sun-dried tomatoes added 'tang' to the dish without taking anything away from the scallops. My wife's Fish Pie was 'off-the-charts' full of flavour, with an assortment of well seasoned Haddock, clams, crab and prawns!I had smoked Haddock that was served with a rich sauce on a bed of beautifully made mash, topped with sweet little green stems, which were sweet and just lovely. It was all finished off with delicious desserts, blueberry cheesecake and a chocolate truffle cake - all very naughty and well on point to finish off a fabulous meal.Service by all was great - it was uncanny that Olga serving us looked like a young Rosalind Pike, but I'm quite certain that nearly everyone calling in points this out!

Superb. Knowledgeable staff, welcoming and friendly. Lovely restaurant. Immaculately clean. Fresh, delicious food and an extensive menu (so plenty of options for everyone). They also have a children's menu with real food on it- not just the usual beige cardboard offered to youngsters.

Absolutely stunning food and the views and atmosphere is amazing. Some might think the service might be a bit slow but for us it was very good. Plenty of time chat between starter and main. The key is that good food takes time to cook right and if it’s fast food you are after, there’s other places to go to. Amazing!!
