16 pound for a pint of warm cider, a warm bottle of cider and a tiny bowl of undercooked, bland freezer bag chips. A bloody joke. Tables outside were disgusting too. For that price you'd hope for some decent service atleast but poor girl inside was all on her own.

First round of drinks was perfect, second an absolute disaster, took more than fourty minutes and a number of requests before they eventually arrived. By which time our enthusiasm had wained.

My girlfriend and I are staying in the hotel. We went down for a drink before going into town and were told by the bar lady that we can't be served because they don't have any clean glasses. She was very dismissive when there were only 2 people at the bar. Could have asked if we wanted a bottle of something instead? Or asked any of the people stood doing absolutely nothing to go wash some glasses? We were planning on eating here whilst staying but I won't spend a penny until we leave. The building/rooms are nice, and the receptionist was very welcoming and lovely to deal with though.

I am writing this review because of the exceptional service from Pat.We came for a meal with two children under 4. Pat made the whole experience relaxing. She was attentive, calming, professional, knowledgeable and couldn’t do enough for us, without being over bearing. The food was very good, but Pat is the reason we’ll come back. An absolute asset.A special mention too for lovely Katie who works on reception in the hotel. Another customer service dream.Well done to The Murrayfield for whatever you’re doing to recruit and keep such wonderful members of staff.Thank you again to Pat (Especially from Xander)

Went for a Sunday Roast with our dog, amazing experience! The food was delicious and the restaurant really stylish and spacious. Will visit again

The staff acts as if though you do not exist. We entered the place and waited to be seated, the receptionist didn’t even look at us, we approached her and she seemed to uninterested to show us to the restaurant. In the restaurant, the waiters did not acknowledge us either. We left the place hungry and disappointed.

Nice beer garden and good selection of drinks. Absolutely no bar snacks apart from wasabi peas or popcorn - both of which are charged at £4 each for a tiny bowl. Complete rip off! Especially considering when there is no other option. Re-evaluate the menu please instead of ripping off loyal customers.

Lovely food and great ambiance. Exceptional customer Service. The Head Chef, Abby, took the time to come and talk to us to make sure he got our order right. Would definitely visit again if we ever go back in Edinburgh..😊

I would have loved to have given a 5 star rating, but, unfortunately the service was a bit slow. We were in a party of 7, on a Sunday evening at 6:30. Some of the menu was unavailable (I can understand this due to the current situation). When our food did arrive it was absolutely excellent, and all 7 of us were of the same opinion. Prices were very reasonable too. If the service had been a bit faster, I would have definitely given a 5 Star rating. The Bothy has a good reputation which, under normal conditions, I would not dispute. I would recommend, as I feel that normally, the service would be faster. We all had a very enjoyable time.

Amazing food! We stayed at the hotel above and it was super cozy and charming. To our surprise, the restaurant below, Bothy, was even more so!Andy, the breakfast and lunch waiter was super funny and welcoming. He shared stories and made great food recommendations. We ordered the Scottish Breakfast, awesome! For lunch we had haggis and fish & chips! Will come back for more soon!
