Loudons New Waverley in Edinburgh

Went for brunch on a weekday morning, booked in advance. The restaurant was not very busy, it was spacious and had a calm vibe. Nice brunch Egg Benedict’s choices. Good and friendly service.

The vibe isn't anything special. The food is overpriced for the quantity. The taste is decent though. However, their homemade lemonade felt very strong on the throat as if they put a lot of black pepper inside, I do not recommend it.

I’ve been here a couple of times for brunch and I am never disappointed! Each meal is as good as the last and the service is always great. I would definitely recommend booking as it can get pretty busy during peak times.

Great cafe, dog friendly and able to cater for my allergy to gluten/dairy/egg. That said, I was disappointed to be told that the pancakes are no longer egg free (despite being marked as vegan on the menu(?)).

Service was really nice but took a long time, but the restaurant was slammed which is understandable.Delicious food, nice range of choices, with craft drinks and sodas and fresh made ingredients.This restaurant is definitely a great spot for breakfast.It was refreshing to have a different menu than many other restaurants in the area with a healthier and lighter twist.I forgot to take photos of the food, but it was presented well and left me feeling satisfied but not stuffed

Absolutely amazing! Food was so well made - mango pancakes are to die for! They have a really cosy atmosphere and service was excellent, nobody was rushed and attention to details were clear. 100% would go again.

So good we came back two days in a row!This was an amazing brunch/ breakfast spot. Centrally located, with a modern feel and good covid measures to keep safe - check in, spacing of tables, staff in masks, one-way system.We queued up for our brunch at 11 on a December Saturday, and got a table within half an hour; well worth it, but I'd recommend booking ahead to save the wait in the cold The next day we'd learned; we booked, and the whole thing felt much smoother.Love the food and the service, the atmosphere is great and the menu was so brilliant we had to come back for breakfast a second time to have another go at the "can't miss" menu items. Between us, over two days, we had: the Full Breakfast; the French toast with figs and walnuts; the Hoots Mon (Eggs Benn with a Scots twist) and the breakfast bap (great value!)Well worth a go!

We returned here after visiting for breakfast a year ago. Enjoyed a wonderful breakfast, eggs Benedict with a hearty Scottish twist. The food was excellent and good value. Service was welcoming and friendly. The restaurant and kitchen are utterly spotless. Good to see places still COVID - conscious, whilst maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Glad we returned and we will come again.

Lovely brunch place; hip, modern, minimalist but cosy. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly.The Power Bowls are a “must try”. I had pulled pork and kale which also had poached egg. Awesome low carb meal! Great flavours, good sized portion.Hoots Mon - haggis on muffins was great too. Whiskey hollandaise was a good touch! I’m not a haggis expert but the other half said, “better than the other day’s” which can only be a positive thing.The staff - attentive, friendly and just nice happy person and meaningful chit chat.Hygiene and cleanliness - good one way traffic flow, masks when not at table, well spaced seating.Overall two thumbs up.

What a lovely place! REALLY spacious with so much seating. Good location close to Waverley station and the Royal Mile/Canongate/Holyrood.Food was delicious and staff were friendly. Very professional atmosphere and high quality service. Would return!
