Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Bar & Grill Edinburgh in Edinburgh

Very disappointed!! Website said open until 10 pm. Got there 8:45, waited for hostess to seat us, close to 10 mins, then she told us (rather rudely after she checked with cooks) we needed to order quickly. We knew what we wanted be evaluate we looked at the menu while waiting to be seated. Another 5 mins passed, waiter brought our water & we asked if we could order with him. Waited at least 20 minutes for the food. One other couple there drinking. My burger bun was completely burned, mac & cheese was cold & steak unseasoned & subpar. Very disappointed.Exhausted from sight seeing, the next night we ordered room service....horrible again. Hoped it would be better. Waited 1 hr. for pizza & a salad. And never brought drinks.Outstanding hotel & staff, but go elsewhere for food!!

Service was excellent. Food was delicious. I had the Shepard's Pie. It was tasty and the portion size was just right. We ate when they opened, so it was nice and quiet.

Complete disappointment!Our severs were great but the food was not... to put it lightly. Had my family of 8 for late dinner, we are staying here at the Hilton and figured it would be nice to not have to go out... wish we had now. Not a single steak was good or even cooked correctly. My fillet was under cooked and everything else, ribeye and sirloins were over cooked. It was late and everyone was starving so we just ate what we could. One of the worst "steakhouse" steaks I have ever had. We would have got up and left right after the food hit the table if we were not starving and out of other options. 300 plus pounds for dinner and it was garbage, flavorless, under and over cooked steaks, not even the the salads were good. I don't like writing reviews like this but there was no manager for us to complain to, just our poor servers doing their best. No idea who Marco Pierre is but there is no way he would not be appalled at the quality of the steaks we were served using his name.... complete disappointment and unacceptable, I had to write this. 2 stars rather than 1 because the servers were nice and the setting comfortable but the food was terribly cooked and flavorless.

Our initial server, Kym, was absolutely fabulous, excellent at her job, but after her shift ended no-one tended our table for over an hour. The afternoon tea was good, the environment is clean, spacious with nice design. However, the service post Kym, was awful and we decided to leave. In no hurry to return.

We went for dinner for our 3rd wedding anniversary and I cannot praise this restaurant enough. We ordered fillet and ribeye, they were so tasty and they arrived so promptly! Service was above and beyond with special mention to Faisal who had fantastic manners and was so attentive and knowleadble he made our celebration truly amazing! Thank you to all the team for an amazing night :)

Really nice food, and not over priced either. The staff were lovely and really attentive and didn't rush us at all. The whisky was very reasonably priced and there's quite a good wine list. Food arrived quickly too.

Visited for an afternoon tea.Staff really helpful and pleasant but the afternoon tea was less than inspiring.Sandwiches were hard at the ends and not chilled.Cakes were mixed but some didn't seem homemade.Hartley' jam portions with scones surely Marco can do better!

Was great. Food was delicious. Staff made our 2nd wedding anniversary super special with free drinks and a cake. Was completely unexpected and massively appreciated

Great food. Great service. Lacking in atmosphere so deducted a star. Not sure if it's because it's in the hotel or because it's quite an open plan set up across the bar etc but can feel quite empty.Also deducted a star because we wanted to add a tip on to the bill but were told we couldn't. Luckily had cash for the staff but would have been highly embarrassed if we had to leave without leaving a tip.

We had dinner at the steakhouse tonight and it has been pleasant.The restaurant is located inside the Hilton Hotel building and it is really elegant. The staff is polite and helpful and offered an excellent service from the beginning to the end.The menu didn’t offer too many choices to be a steakhouse, the strawberry daiquiri that I ordered was really nice but I would say a bit expensive, while the food price was fair.The starters were amazing (we had the squid rings and half a portion of mac&cheese) but honestly the main is the reason why I didn’t give 5 stars. We both had the signature fillet steak with king prawns and bearnaise sauce, which was served on a slice of toasted sourdough which was way too hard to cut even with a steak knife. Also I hoped the sauce would be on the side but was actually on the steak already. On the other hand, the steak was cooked perfectly.I was probably simply expecting the steak to be served a bit differently considering how elegant the place and the service was, maybe I would suggest choosing something else from the grill section.
