Quite disappointed. I tried to claim the student discount but was told I needed a membership card which they couldn't let me sign up for. This was not mentioned on the advert. Most of the menu was out of stock. I want to stress the food we did end up choosing was tasty, well presented and good and the staff were really friendly. However the lack of stock is quite poor.

I asked for a flame grilled chicken mango kebab. The skewer had never seen a flame in its life (it was cold). Either had the raw onions and peppers. The 'vegetable rice' was pilau rice. No excuses, it was woeful. I don't like giving bad reviews but I have no choice.Microwaving some chicken and pepper and throwing them all onto a skewer with raw onion is not a 'flame grilled mango chicken kebab'. Do you think your clients are stupid? Or are you just lazy? Either way I felt ripped off.

McCowans food has improved 10 fold. Perfectly cooked chicken/burgers/wings, well seasoned, lovely presentation and the food is coming so quickly compared to before. McCowans has improved so much since a change of staff. Staff really are the heart of service. We had a fantastic experience last night served by Emily, very caring and attentive.

Went tonight with a group of friends, 2 of our friends were already there waiting for us in a booth. Waitress told us to go do the track and trace so we went back to do it and then she says we cannot stay because they were expecting people from football (funny enough the place was still pretty empty one hour after).I can understand the fact that maybe other tables were booked, but I don’t understand why we were all kicked out when in our friends table there was space for another 4 people.Last week i put in an order for a drink and a fish and chips 9.15pm, order confirmed. 10 o’clock i have to go and ask where my food is. “Oh kitchen closes at 9”, which is fine, i can understand that, no problem at all, but 1) why do you confirm my order? And 2) If the kitchen is closed i think the bare minimum is coming to me and telling me that “unfortunately the kitchen is closed, here is your money”.

We have been going there every Wednesday after training for a drink, but unfortunately we can never make it before the kitchen closing time, which we have always been told it's 9pm.Today was the birthday of one of the players so a couple of us went earlier than usual to take a table, so that the rest could make food orders in advance through the app, and send them our way before the kitchen closed (note this was before 20:30h).We asked the waitress for two tables of 6 (didn't even need them together), although we said probably we were gonna be fewer. Place was fairly empty but she still pondered, went to the back and came back saying: no, sorry, today we're closing the kitchen earlier because of football night. We say "ok thanks" and go to Pizza Hut next door to ask if they would take us after 9pm, they tell us they'll be glad to. While we wait for the rest of our friends to finish their training, we go back to McCowans to have a drink (cause why not, we can understand their reasons to not serve dinner if they are going to be at their busiest). We were there from about 8:30pm to 9:10pm and really lots of tables were still empty and food orders kept coming out of the kitchen. Our friends came and they were turned down at the door as the waitress said they were expecting football fans to swarm the place. That's fine, we tell our friends about our plan B, go have a meal with no fuss at Pizza Hut and finish by 10pm.On our way back to the car we take a peak inside McCowans and really the place still looks the same to us, not any busier than other Wednesday nights. It feels like we were just dismissed cause they didn't want to handle a "big" food order all at once (in the end we were 10, and honestly we could have also waited as much as they would have needed us too). It might be an error of judgement from their side, and the waitress/staff at the bar might have been tired from a long shift, but the end result is that they have a big group of regulars who wanted to have a meal, being respectful of their kitchen schedules, trying to place our orders early enough... and ended up feeling unwelcomed. Also, most of us are in our 30s, and we're mature enough to not create "scenes", unlike some football fans that were screaming in a table next to us when we were having the drink there. We'll think twice before going there again from next week on.

Been here a few times now over the last month or so and food has always been spot on! We love the steak and the sharing boards. Kids always finish their meals here and said today the food was worth 5 stars. Staff have always been friendly and professional.

Been in a few times now and always had a brilliant time there. Staff have always been friendly and can get a good bit of banter with them at times. Drinks have been clean and crisp (can tell when you get a place that knows how to take care of the beer lines properly) and the food has been tasty and great value. The manager has always been very accommodating for when there is a group of us in, ensuring that we have had the best time possible. Bonus of the place is that it has tons of tvs with nearly any sport available, ideal for a football fanatic like myself. All in all great atmosphere and will definitely be back.

Great place if you want to watch soccer have a drink or just want to have a pub is modern interior. The staff was very friendly and i felt welcome. The drinks were good too and the price of latte and cappuccino a bit below the average price which was also good to see. I also liked the style with the flags for the euro 2021 matches. Only thing which needed to be improved was that the table was not cleaned where I was. I can understand it because it seemed to be a busy day for the staff. I could not download the app because i have a German phone. The staff still helped me to make my order and was friendly in every way. I can recommend this place to everyone and i will definitely come back again.See you soon
