Merchants Restaurant in Edinburgh

We only stumbled across this lovely restaurant by taking a wrong turn. But we decided to see if they had any availability. We were greeted by very nice and polite staff and we were seated right away. The food was outstanding and the presentation of the food was amazing. Great decor and a lovely atmosphere. Would recommend for couples, groups or families.

Great restaurant if you're visiting Edinburgh. Fantastic food and great ambiance inside. I think it's worth mentioning that this place is far better than some of the reviews from 2+ years ago suggest. Cocktails were also top class and very generous in size. Great host who always had a smile and made us feel very welcome.

Incredible food and incredible service. Couldn’t fault one single thing about this place. Had the beef which was cooked perfectly, beverages were wonderful and the environment is second to none. Thoroughly recommend this to anyone heading to Edinburgh, or even going for a date night.

Food was delicious. Red pepper risotto was a taste explosion, side order of tenderstem broccoli was so delicious and strawberry posset was sublime. Staff were lovely.

Fringe and Tattoo on so couldn't get parked. Telephoned the restaurant to apologise as we were going to be late. Staff fantastic and held our table until we got there. Meal was superb, extremely tasty. Staff very helpful. Would definitely recommend here

This gem deserves more than 5 stars, it's off the scale. The food is excellent, the staff are so warm and friendly. Exceptional value for money and top notch cuisine, best meal ever!

Good restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh, been here with my group to have dinner on Sunday, they generally close on Sunday, they just open for group, the 3 course menu is delicious, first come the salmon mouse, main course is beef and the desert is lemon curd, the waiter is super kind and helpful, the place also big enough, recommend restaurant both for big group or personal visit

Had dinner with my group on our visit in Edinburgh. The resto is so red color. The food wasn't so bad. The waiter & waitress need to smile a bit.
