Milnes Bar in Edinburgh

We arrived at Milnes Bar on our first day in sunny Edinburgh for a mid-week break. The staff were very friendly and attentive and our meals were delicious. We enjoyed a few relaxing refreshments and it was great to see so many locals catching up with each other after the tough few years we have all had! We highly recommend this bar/restaurant and will definitely visit again next time we are in Edinburgh😃 10/10 👍

Great bar, enjoyed some drinks while watching F1. Staff (Lauren and Ronnie) were nice and place had a comfortable ambience. Food looks great and well priced.

Nice traditional pub with good food at reasonable prices, a convenient place to stop off for lunch if out shopping. Very friendly staff. Glad to see they stock Glayva here, which guaranteed a return visit by us for drinks in the evening.

We went a week ago. Lovely meals, we had the haggis pie and macaroni. Although very busy there was no issue letting us move to another table away from the stairs. Staff were lovely and friendly.

Husband and I went there a week and a half ago for lunch. It was not very good at all. Haggis pie avoid! It had obviously been sitting out for a while and then microwaved. Mashed potatoes had a skin on top. Steak pie was OK, but I have had a lot lot better. Luke warm food and warm beer. Won't be back, so disappointing.

Drink and food good and reasonably priced. Bar and waiting staff pleasant and helpful. The young heavy set security person who wears a body camera is a most dishonest and aggressive individual. Snatched a half pint from my hand with no warning. His elder colleague was professional and courteous and acknowledged it could have been handled better. Flipped his middle finger at our group as He walked upstairs. A real poster boy for his Security company. NOT

Wonderful atmosphere, amazing open fire to warm you up on these cold winter days. Staff warm and friendly. Great selection of drinks available. Food was fantastic! Highly recommended a visit ❤️

Absolutely loved this pub just one little fault and that was that there was no mirror in the disabled toilet. The service and the staff were great. Next time we call we are definitely having a meal here as the food looked really good.

On a very cold and windy night in Edinburgh any pub would be good, but this one felt homely and welcoming!The atmosphere was pleasant, there seemed to be people from all over the country, if not the world, and all just enjoying the evening!My only point of warning, just don't sit at the table by the door, unless you enjoy a cold hard breeze!

Wonderful little pub. Prompt service and good prices. Really nice food and lovely, friendly waiters. I had a Steak and Ale Pie, and my friend had a Burger. The pie was a bit deconstructed, but both were super tasty and great value for money. Will be sure to visit again next time we are in Edinburgh!
