Mumtaz Mahal in Edinburgh

Been a Kebab Mahal regular for a number of years. Generally happy with food & service.. But on this occasion it was poor. Donner was rubbery & stale...the mixed kebab had no taste....Place needs a good clean too

I have already sent so many of my Friends to Kebab mahal. It's one of most authentic and affordable places and the curry is delicious. I'd recommend you to have Chicken Madras if spicy is your thing because that dish is BOMB. You can't ask for a better curry in a budget

Only pakora was nice. No special taste and ambience. Chana chat was worst. Overall 5/10

The nicest Indian food in all of Scotland. Not fancy interior. Comfortable. Nice waitstaff. Good, fair prices and large delicious portions.

One of the worst places to get food from. No taste just extra colour to make food look good. Owner's son has no manners to talk to the customers thinks very high of him self as a chef but have no basic knowledge about Asian food attanticity.Tried it couple of times and on each occasion ended up with upset stomach.Highly recommend think twice before going to this place.

Very basic place but the curries are very good, reasonable, service is quick. I go there each time I am in Edinburgh Great naan bread

Good simple food, tasty and savoury. Loved the naan!Prices are not necessarily the cheapest, but are comparable.You cannot reserve a table (even though we telephoned ahead and tried) and so had to wait about 15 minutes for a table to become available (but suspect this may only the case currently as the Edinburgh Fringe festival is currently in full swing).The place is simple and honestly furnished and decorated; but the food definitely surpassed my expectations.

The Döner Kebab was pretty good. The bread was far too small for the filling though. Could've been packed better too... Overall: 4 stars. Recommended.

Don't be fooled by the interior, this is not just one of the best curry houses in Edinburgh but quite possibly in Britain. I had the Lamb Rogan Josh which had been slow cooked with tender pieces of lamb and lovely fresh fragrant flavours. I can't recommend this place highly enough.
