New Chapter in Edinburgh

Probably the best meal that I had during my time in Edinburgh.Still dreaming with that haggis tartlet and the scallops delicious.They have a small but nice mocktails menu. You shouldn't miss the desserts.

Food was unbelievably good, the house cocktails were refreshing and unique. Sometimes fine dining can be intimidating and so pricey for what you get; this place was worth every penny. The portions were just the right amount- satisfying, but not so much of it that you can't finish it.Perfect place to splurge on a special occasion, or to make your regular spot.

It deserves more than 5 stars, to be honest. My wife and I had the best dining experience here in Edinburgh so far. The environment was very relaxing, the staff were very nice and the food was fantastic! - fresh and delicious! The presentations were good and appealing. Love that!

Very disappointed. The food is cooked and presented very well, using an interesting range of ingredients. However, the dishes are just not balanced well and that ruins the dining experience. Not acceptable for fine dining prices.We didn’t finish either of our starters. The salmon tartare was completely overpowered by the pickled radish, and the beetroot with soft cheese was good for a few bites but fatigued quickly. (I’ve never attempted to eat so much beetroot!)The main courses were okay, but not memorable. There was no contrast in the flavours and the sauces drowned things out.The dessert was flat too. We shared the banana based dessert, and I have no idea how anyone could have eaten it solo. The banana based dish was just that, waves of banana upon sickly banana that was only made bearable by the passion fruit sorbet.The wine selection was good, but that doesn’t make up for an unsatisfactory £150 meal in a market filled with great fine dining restaurants. I would not recommend.

Wow! This dinner was incredible. My husband said he had never had good this good. Especially the starters, such a great balance of flavours and well thought about dishes. Would highly recommend. Staff were great and the right about of attentiveness.

We had the most exquisite meal here; family friendly too! They catered for our six year old son by frying a fillet of cod and serving with triple cooked chips. He absolutely loved it. Somehow they manage to be extremely warm, friendly, professional and formal at the same time. We would honestly come back every night if we could.

We found New Chapter through a Google recommendation of nice restaurants in the area and were not disappointed!The food was delicious and the staff was super friendly and welcoming.We had a three course menu and alcoholic beverages and spend about 110 pounds for two people which I personally find very decent for such high quality food.The produces where local and seasonal which is important to me.The flavours of each of our dishes were complex but not overwhelming. My highlight was the beef cheek- super tender and delicious.Would eat there regularly if I lived in the neighbourhood.

We went for our anniversary to try their Christmas menu which was really amazing and was such a good price overall. We received amazing service from Enrique and the rest of the staff, who were all lovely and the food came quickly. Photos are self explanatory as to how delicious everything was! I want to go again to try their Sunday roast and the rest of their beautiful dishes.

Wonderful gem in Edinburgh. Delicious food accompanied with a perfect red wine and amazing service. Will definitely be back ASAP. Thankyou to all the team at new chapter for the best food during our trip to Scotland!

Absolutely stunning menu. Really one of the best lunches I've ever had. Both the desserts in particular were on another level so make sure you don't skip on them. A must visit if you're in Edinburgh and looking for a proper meal out!
