High Tea and Champagne at the Palm Court stands to be one of the highlights of our time in Edinburgh!Book early and you will not be disappointed. We were greeted with such hospitality and the service was top notch!Drinking tea and listening to a harpist play is a very relaxing way to spend an afternoon off of the feet. The variety of tea was outstanding and the food was exquisite!I highly recommended making a reservation here.

We went for a belated birthday present afternoon tea at the Palm Court in The Balmoral Hotel. It was what Patricia had wanted as a birthday present but COVID had intervened with redeeming the beautifully presented gift certificate. It was well well worth the wait, the staff were all lovely, welcoming, and helpful. The whole experience was just so relaxing, the assorted food was all delicious. The selection of teas I tried were a revelation, I did not think I could drink so much tea in one session, then want to come back in future to try more. But again I must praise the staff who made us feel at home in these gorgeous but comfy surroundings. From the harpist in the gallery, to the servers, to the kitchen magicians who made food to suit my wife's allergies. All of these added up to a wonderful day to remember.

Worth every penny. Great afternoon tea. Nicos is wonderful and Daniel at the host stand is very kind.

Today I had the utmost pleasure of an afternoon high tea at the palm Court. I can say the level of customer service today was the best I have had in 10 years. The food was petite and tasty and the coffee selection caters to all.We came to celebrate my mums birthday and they played music and came out with a surprise cake.10 for service and atmosphere and highly recommended

The Palm Court in the Balmoral hotel is a stunning tea room. It is plain but it does it well. The service and the waiters are really lovely, giving my sincere compliments to them. The afternoon tea itself was not good at all. The savoury dishes were tasteless and the sandwiches were dry and felt I am eating sandwiches from Sainsbury. The icing on the cake was that this place serve the scones with the savoury dishes which does not make any sense. Especially when scones are best to be eaten warm with the sweet course. It was not worth the price in my opinion it felt like a cheap afternoon tea course. Though I want to emphasise again on the service which was really attentive and excellent!

A truly wonderful experience provided by Omar and his staff…made us feel completely welcome after a last minute “let’s see if we can sneak in for afternoon tea” decision.

A wonderful experience at The Palm Court at The Balmoral Hotel for afternoon tea. We called up before to discuss some dietary requirements and I could not believe the attention to detail and kindness just at this stage. Every person who served or helped us where of amazing standard. Thank you to the staff as you are doing an incredible job. They got everything spot on as discussed on the telephone and went above and beyond our expectations (including fresh fruit when one of us didn't eat some of the cakes). The sandwiches are traditional, but very fresh and tasty. Perfect warmed scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam followed by decadent pastries and cakes. Unlimited coffees and teas included. We were even given little gifts to go home with. I cannot recommend this experience enough.

Visited on September 6th, 2020.Great service level and atmosphere. Tea types were more concentrated in Asian ones. The sandwich and dessert selections were normal and nothing special compared to Peacock Alley at Waldorf Astoria even though afternoon tea price was £10 higher. At the checkout, the Palm Court team was not acknowledged my hotel credit from the stay at Balmoral. I had to mention two times for the team to check with the otel reception. I did mention this to the hotel reception a few times at check-in and check out, but I believe they forgot about it.Otherwise, it was a great experience and tea selections are great. The service level was much better than Peacock Alley and there was a gift set after all the courses in my opinion.I would recommend to all people who are planning to visit Edinburgh. An early reservation is a must.
