I do not recommend this place at all. The staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. The place was very mess and dirty. Also they make you use the table service app, which is not great and they should offer normal services, like a normal bar.

Okay for here you should get there a wee bit before 8 I think to make sure you get a table (hopefully inside). However there are many seats outside if it's not too cold and you can always try to get a table inside laterThe food is great, especially the nachos, the beers aren't expensive. If you like sport it's a really nice place to watch it, although the sound might be too loud sometimes

the place is amazing, really good looking and the staff are friendly and prestative. the food is okay... we ordered fish n chips, quesadilla and wings. Portion size is good, howver the fish n chips was completely saltless and I think that the oil used for frying was dirty/old. Qusadillas were okay, but the guacamole looked not made at restaurant... the wing were good. For drinks and socializing, highly recommended.

Student can get discount. Nice place for gathering all course people. Also nice place for watching sports games.

Great pub and atsmosphere to watch the rugby, shame about incompetent management, had a table from 1pm to watch 4 games of rugby , last game being 8pm, at 6pm we were given a notice to say our table was reserved at 8pm, which was the main game of the day, after questioning why we were asked to move when we have been here all-day we were pretty muchTold we have to find another seat in a fully packed pub, if given the chanceWe would of sat in an unreserved seat and enjoyed the day , really disappointed as pear tree was happy take our money for 5hours but happily shaft us towards the end of the night , staff were amazing but management needs there heads checked and a serious think about customer loyalty. A simple question to management about our situation was quickly brushed off as not there issue and now we have to find a new venue at 7pm on a Saturday night

Typical student bar. Nice fire going when entering. We had a quick bite to eat before more sight seeing.Fries were ok as were the jalapeno poppers. The chicken wings were terrible and the coke tasted like fizzy water.Had to order through app type thing on phone. Not great.

The vibe was great, the event greater, the fun greatest. It hosted a India vs Pakistan match that and as you might guess, the atmosphere was electric. Sadly India lost that day but couldn't have gone to a better venue to see the match

I love the Pear Tree and I’ve been coming here since my parents brought me as a baby 😊 it has a beautiful courtyard with ancient pear trees of course and a large outdoor screen to show the football and they also host live music gigs. My brothers band were lucky enough to get a gig during the Edinburgh festival before the Covid pandemic. Lovely inside too and they have a great selection of local and international beers and ciders as well as a great selection of spirits and alcopop type drinks. The food menu looks good although I haven’t eaten here.

Was in the city with a friend and of course as covid restrictions have lifted and the festival is now on it was pretty busy everywhere. We walked around a little and then decided to stop in here and it was petty good overall! A lovely big beer garden with a good amount of seating meant we could sit outside and enjoy the nice weather/ feel a bit safer in the fresh air. You can order from your table using a pretty simple app and everything is brought out to you! We eventually ordered some food too and it was brought out all boxed up which made it easy to eat and clean up after. The food was really hot and nice enough for a pub meal! The prices weren't too expensive either for what we had- the food and drink were both decently priced.Overall a good place for a drink & dinner in a nice, safe setting! The only thing that could have made it better is maybe a few more staff members being around outside as if you needed to get anything or ask for extras you had to go into the building to the bar a lot (for extra cutlery, sauces, napkins etc) and the wait time was slightly long so if you are heading to a fringe show or anything after, order as soon as you sit down to give you extra time.

Nice venue, plenty of outdoor seating which is socially distanced. Big screen was excellent for showing sports and can be seen from almost anywhere in the beer garden. Order via app and table service is efficient. Only downside is it can get cold in the beer garden, and potentially wet if it rains as there is limited cover. Indoor seating is available. Would recommend booking. Drinks reasonably priced, would return.
