Pera - Turkish Mangal & Meze Bar in Edinburgh

The Pera is a friendly place with incredibly good food. We had a lovely evening and would thoroughly recommend it. The chef and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We had a fabulous meal here. We were super hungry after a long train journey so had the banquet option. The food was plentiful, so fresh and piping hot and really really tasty. Service was great considering the gentleman was doing everything himself! 100% recommend.

Having lived in Turkey for 6 years I have eaten a lot of traditional foods and this place is the closest I have came since returning to UK. Small menu but food was fantastic and great service. Highly recommend

Had takeaway delivery - 2nd time. The food here is flavourful. Smokey grilled top quality meats and salads/meze pop with freshness. Simple, delicious, cooked with care. You could be beside the Bosphorus.

One of the best meals I have had in a Turkish restaurant, everything was so delicious, really fresh and all the meat really tender. Would highly recommend a visit!

I would like to give this restaurant a better review. The first time I came here was four years ago with a big group and I loved it. Today, for a special occasion I decided I wanted to return.The service was rude with the owner not responding to questions about the menu - I asked for advice on how many mezze to order instead of a main meal and the response was cold and uncommunicative.The food was delicious and I understand that freshly cooked food requires patience - it was mostly worth the wait.There were surprises on the bill - the corkage prices were shocking and not representative of what was drunk.I rate the food here but won't come back due to my unpleasant experience with the service and communication.

Just superb. Very homely freshly cooked Turkish food. Real gem. Proprietor/chef was a fantastic host. Would recommend. Hummus and pitta amazing, Chicken Gevuc and kebabs all gorgeous.

Absolutely amazing meal! Highly suggest the Sultans Banquet, hot and cold meze to start and this amazing selection of meats for the main. Incredibly tasty, good service and great price as well.

This place is a hidden gem! Home cooked Turkish food, reasonably priced and the owner is quietly confident you will enjoy his food...and he’s not wrong. Closest thing I have had to Turkish food outside of Turkey 🇹🇷Great atmosphere, fantastic food and easy parking is a bonus as always in Leith.
