Positano in Edinburgh

Elegant, but family friendly. Typical Italian restaurant, but with a Sardinian twist. Traditional decor and traditional Italian hospitality and excellent customer service. We went for a quick bite and sampled jumbo shrimps coated in crunchy polenta batter with tomato sauce, fregola with eggplants and ricotta salata, malloreddus (Sardinian gnocchi) with zucchini, cheese and saffron. Everything was excellent. We are planning to go back when we will have more time to try the typical Sardinian wine Cannonau, other fish delicacies and desserts! Almost forgot, complimentary Sardinian flat bread, Pane Carasau, lovely!

We visited this fabulous Sardinian restaurant for the first time yesterday evening and had a wonderful time! We had an excellent meal of seafood, fish, hand-made ravioli and cheese accompanied by a lovely Sardinian wine and port. Our hostess was very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive, but without being intrusive. We will definitely return the next time we visit Edinburgh.

Good food, excellent combination with wines, very good service. Price a little bit higher than we expected, but it was a positive experience. We will return

Unlike many restaurants where the fish is frozen, the food is precooked ..., here you can taste homemade delicacies including desserts. .. It seems to be in Italy ... Excellent Sardinian restaurant in the center of Edinburgh .... If you haven't been there, try it! let's toast !!! There are six, seven ... , ten stars otherwise they would all deserve them. Wonderful staff ... friendly and .... EVERYTHING .... !!!

We had a very beautiful Xmas meals... loved it all

Isola offers a warm, familiar and cosy dining experience. We were transported back to Sardinia with fresh flavours, simple but perfectly executed dishes. We took our 6 month old daughter with us and the staff were so friendly and good with her. You feel like family going there so this will become one of our regular haunts. We have a large menu to work our way through!

Just Amazing. We are 2 Fussy Italians :) and we never eat @ Italian food out as it's always disappointing. But ISOLA what can we say I couldn't stop eating. The flavours are just amazing. The atmosphere exactly what you wished every restaurant had. Federica serving and taking orders was just Amazing. She explained everything and was so enthusiastic and welcoming. Thank you guys for the lovely night and for making our 17th Anniversary Just Perfect.

Excellent Italian and Sardinian cuisine, refined flavors and tasty dishes. Rich menu, for all tastes, but I suggest to try the really good vegan alternatives. Congratulations to the Chef Pietro and to all the staff, for the attention to details and politeness.

I been there yesterday with a friend...because I want let them try a Sardinia food... Everything was good and Nice atmosphere...the food was very tipical from Sardinia. We enjoyed the lunch...For sure we come back.A sa prossima :)
