Pret a Manger in Edinburgh

Went in there this morning for a coffee and breakfast roll. The woman who served me didn’t even greet me (tall, with long dark hair) very unfriendly. I ordered my coffee and after she rang up my purchase she never said a word to me and just gave me a blank stare. After a few seconds she just called the next person forward so I then realised she wasn’t making the coffee and her colleague behind her was. She could have actually said to me ‘my colleague is making your coffee, it’ll be a couple of minutes,’ or something as I am not a mind reader. Whilst waiting on the side another few customers were served and then the lady making the coffees who never once glanced over her shoulder so had no clue who was there just handed my cappuccino to a woman who had come 2-3 customers after me so I wax the last one standing. Normally, I wouldn’t really bother about it but to be fair I wax in a rush and I had already waited behind another lady for 2-3 minutes so by the time I got my coffee I had waited well over 5 minutes, not really acceptable considering the roll (which was a tough panini style, not the usual brioche one and was just awful and mostly ended up in the bin) was pre prepared and there was only 2 people in front of me was ridiculous. Customer service was non existent and food and coffee below par snd over priced at £6.20. You can go around the corner to Greggs and get a bigger and better coffee and a bacon and egg roll of much better quality for £2.75 so I’ll certainly be doing that in future, staff in Greggs are also friendlier by far and so is the service.

Good choice of hot and cold foods. Coffee was decent too.

The staff are always so lovely and welcoming here. Most of them know my order because I come in so regularly! Really friendly and my coffee is always well made. :)

Good range of baguettes and sandwiches plus salads. Great coffee. Lots of seating and always busy.

Good tuna toastie, and mango smoothie. Staff were helpful. But I was disappointed they no longer seem to do the avocado open sandwiches or the crayfish sandwich. Please bring them back, or you'll just be the same as all the other sandwich shops...!

Good food, but service is extremely rude

Small but friendly cafe. Good direction of sandwiches and cakes. Love the Earl grey tea here, it's the best of any I've had anywhere!

Great place for a good cup of tea or coffee. Their Earl Grey tea is lovely. Venue was very clean and tidy with very friendly and helpful staff. Good choice of snacks / cakes, very tasty.

We went in to drink a coffee, which was good. But the place was not very clean. There were crumbles all over the floor and the tables were sticky. Did not feel very comfortable.

The sandwiches here are absolutely amazing! Simple, fresh, healthy! Love this place. Got take-out and went to eat in the Princes Street Gardens.
