All style, no substance.SETTINGLovely dining room, nicely lit and tasteful decor. Lack of any sort of ambient music is a downer.SERVICEPleasant on the surface from everyone, but lacking in the basics. We ordered specific glasses of both red and white, and they were announced as….. the red and the white, (we’re not in a pub!).No check back after the stater, main or afters. This would have been useful from the staffs point of view, hence the below may not have been missed.FOODAverage pretending to be top notch.Velouté was tasteless. I don’t know how this was achieved, but it was watery and I don’t think there was any seasoning in it whatsoever.Parfait was ok. Bread was alright. Couldn’t really identify any of the other ingredients listed in the menu, (apart from some sort of berry… or current… or something! Whatever it was, it had a not very nice, bitter sort of a taste, and had no place on the delicate dish!).King oyster mushroom main was lost within itself. No tastebuds we’re thrilled and it was a poor attempt at the only vegetarian option.Sirloin steak main was lacklustre. Hand cut chips were good. Garnished with pointless rocket. (Again, we’re not in a pub!). Peppercorn sauce was watery and basically bang average. Not enhancing in the slightest.Cheese was nice, (I assume not made on site), but the grapes were literally frozen….. seriously….. they belong in a cocktail.SUMMARYNot worth the money. Looks good…. But that’s it.Please make changes to justify the setting, or just change the concept all together.

The hotel itself is lovely, it has just been redecorated. Staff are very pleasant but not always efficient. The food was woeful.Starters of smoked salmon terrine, soup, pate all tasteless. Assorted root veg a bit better. Both the fish and the beef were totally overcooked. The main accompnyment to the fish was bits of onion, which did not enhance the dish in any way. Did not have dessert.

Presentation was stunning and service was good. Parfait was a large portion with three tiny slices of ginger bread. Impossible to finish the parfait with so little bread. Beef was tasteless and has the presumed texture of dog food. Mozzarella fritters were lovely and parmasan and truffle oil chips were also a winner. Over all good service but won't be returning for food.

Was here with my partner with a voucher for a steak dinner for two she got as a birthday present. Bit disappointed overall. Service was ok but for a restaurant charging strong money I'd have expected better. Steaks were also a let down if I'm honest. Wouldn't rush back. Plenty other places nearby doing far better food and at a far more reasonable price.

Lovely setting, but sub-par service and some unusual takes on classics that don't always pan out. Great for quiet conversation, and business dinners.

A 4 Star Hotel which delivers 5 Star restaurant. Having done the Boozy Snoozy, a few times, we did Christmas Day as all the family are based in Aus. Staff could not have been nicer, sharing their Christmas Day, the food was well beyond what you'd imagine it would be. Nothing was rushed but never left sitting, looking for your next course. Magic. And with the Hotel being Dug Friendly, our pooch joined us in the small back bar as we enjoyed a couple of drams. Highly recommend the Bonham.

We've been 3 times now always with a coupon, never fails to exceed our expectations. Last time we went for two courses and a bottle of wine between two and stayed for a second bottle. Lovely food, good service great casual dining in a beautiful setting.

I paid for my parents to have a meal here as a present this was their review.Good food. However probably the worst service I have ever had. Staff need to be retrained or fired because the standard is so low. I would not recommend and will tell my friends to not visit here.I felt upset as it was a present.
