One of my favourite pubs in Edinburgh for eighteen years! However had a bad experience with a Claire Williamson and partner who tagged along with me in this pub last year. I invited them in to my home and they disrespected my home and I was cautioned by the police for their inappropriate behaviour! I still had the common decency to hand her bag with thirty pounds in it to the manager of Ryan's bar as I know what it is like to have money stolen from me. Asked for feedback from the manager who I gave her handbag to but no response. Had some fabulous times there with Mat and friends. Don't judge a book by its cover? As a humanist feels good to drink where I want in Edinburgh.

After an initial rocky start with not so hot food. This was dealt with immediately and politely. All day breakfast had and was delicious. Been a while since I've had so many flavours on one plate, everything tasted excellent. Service was great. Im hoping for the same again next week.

Be very careful when going to this cafe. They overcharge your bill purposely. Me and my partner decided to go for the "cake of the day", that is charged for 4.20£. At the same time, we were asked to directly pay for the bill without even having started our beverages. Once we noticed the overcharge, it was already too late. Instead of charging us 4.20£, they charged us 6.10£. They also added a charge of 0.30£ for oat milk, even though they didn't have that option. Of course we asked for clarification "We are sorry, but since you paid, there is nothing we can do". I will escalate this issue further.

Great food and drink in a beautiful city. Only called in for lunch. When we're back in Edinburgh we will definitely call back for the evening drinks 👍

Friendly bar staff. Was in at a quiet time on an evening. Had lovely Cullen skink followed by venison pie. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the the good service of the staff.

We visited here for lunch and then breakfast the following day. Really nice setting and the food was fantastic!

Really lovely food (I had the breakfast) and well priced! Staff were very friendly and professional. Decor was really lovely as well, was all done up for christmas. Only down side was the toilets were dirty... not the toilet themselves but the walls, doors and floors needed a wipe! But all in all well worth a visit.

Nice space with a strong offering on their menu. A lot of their staff are obviously quite new (perhaps seasonal due to the time of year), but no problems experienced as a result. Particulary impressed by the waitress who spotted our receipt on the table out of the corner of her idea and promptly appeared with the card machine 30 seconds later. We weren't even in her section!
