Salt N Vinegar in Edinburgh

Excellent chippy with great staff and great food. Cant fault anything and look forward to going back. Nice crispy crust on the pizza and the cheese didnt slide off the pizza when i lifted my slice and the toppings were generous.

No idea why this place is rated so highly. Ice cold flavourless chips. They forgot to add the cheese I paid for, but thankfully I checked before I left. After a 10 minute walk home, the cheese still hadn’t melted in the container at all - that’s when I knew the chips would be trash

Perfect spot where to have also great fish & chips. Nice guys are running the place.

Lovely little chip shop - the secret surprise is the doner pizza and the lovely owner. The fish and chips and scampi are top notch but we came back for the chicken doner pizza and the warmth of the owner. Great value for money and really really good food!

It just wasnt good fish. The owner dipped everythibg in the same batter (without wasshing his hands in between, we sat there for a while) which is kinda gross.Fries were ok. Owner was very friendly

Good atmosphere, you will get the full experience and we had the nicest chef! Felt like home, but be aware of the enormous portion sizes! 👌

The restaurant was empty when I came. The guy at the counter seemed welcoming at first, but he was actually quite rude behind a thin veil of friendliness.The fish n chips was quite a large portion, but bland. I didn't finish it.I walk past this place every day, but won't be going back.

Freshly made fish and chips at Salt and Vinegar is the best, especially after a night out. They are open till late in the night and are always hospitable!

No queue when I went in, food had been pre cooked. Staff were polite & friendly. Ordered a Fish Supper. £8.50. Chips were different temperatures, some hot, some warm, loads of scrappy, crispy bits....fish batter was soft, fish was bland and dry and disappointing.... poor overall.

As sad as it sounds I try to have a kebab in every place I visit. Nipped across the road from the Sheraton where I was staying and I certainly wasn't disappointed. Had a long chat with the owner who was a very pleasant guy, ordered the mixed doner ( lamb and chicken ) he made me up his special salad to go with it ( balsamic and olive oil dressing ) and I've got to say the whole meal was probably the best I've ever ever had. Next time I'm back in Edinburgh I know where I'm going again.
