Vivienne was an excellent host. She was kind, helpful with everything that we needed and as if that wasn’t already good enough she was also incredibly funny. I would absolutely 100% recommend Sherwood house to anyone. It’s very cosy, service (as I’ve already mentioned) is amazing, and the breakfast is lovely. Anytime I’ll go to Edinburgh again, I will absolutely stay at Sherwood house and will recommend it to every single one of my peers. Could not be more satisfied

This was an excellent place to stay. Vivienne was lovely and everything was as you would want. Especially good points were:- The breakfast, which was great, with a good range of fresh fruit, cereals and pastries.- The location - well situated for the city centre, in an area with lots of restaurants and a short walk to Arthur's Seat.- The house; clean, pleasantly decorated and the room we were staying in at the back was very quiet.

The host is so genuine. You instantly feel welcomed and know you've chosen the right place! She has thought of everything you may need. Good sized room with en suite bathroom. Mini fridge set up with two water carafes, electric hot water carafe, cookies, and choice of coffee and teas. Bed & pillows were super cozy. Very clean! You feel right at home when you step in. Accommodation was top notch. Vivienne includes a very thorough binder that offers local places to fit anyone's taste. Her helpful tips to navigate Edinburgh's gems including transportation options saved a lot of time researching. Centrally located and walking distance to Royal Mile. She even has umbrellas set at the entry way for guest use... just in case. Breakfast is perfect. Fresh fruit, protein options, pastries, cereal, and more. Will definitely return when I travel to Edinburgh. It was a most perfect find! Thank you Vivienne. You are a gem!

The location is great for exploring. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Viviene is so kind and friendly. This is a very nice place to stay whilst in Edinburgh.

We ABSOLUTELY loved our stay! Vivienne was such a great host and fun to talk to. She knows Edinburgh like the back of her hand.The room was clean and beautiful. Breakfast was fantastic! The location was great too. An easy bus ride to the city.

We absolutely had a great time staying here. The owner is a complete delight and we will return here is back in Edinburgh. I have already gotten a friend to book a room here in a month 😍I wish all my vacations had a place to stay like this.Up to date rooms, wonderful breakfast, exceptional service. So helpful 😍I really can't say enough about how great it was to stay here.

Very nice guest house, conveniently located between the city center and the highway. There are three parking places for cars available on a first-come first-served basis. The place is clean, and the host is very nice. We would recommend for a weekend getaway esp. shall you wish to visit Edinburgh's surroundings by car.

What a fantastic stay! Vivian was full of good advice and absolutely charming. Very central location. High ceilings throughout and large windows in the rooms, all nicely decorated. The bathrooms were apparently just renovated and they're really modern. Nice beds, and we enjoyed the TV. Breakfast was lovely. Would absolutely recommend!

Absolutely loved our stay and would happily stay again if we ever revisit Edinburgh. Vivienne is a delight who was more than accomodating from start to finish and very helpful with her knowledge of the area. The breakfast is a good variety and always delicious. Vivienne was always attentive and the room itself was clean.
