Silver Bowl in Edinburgh

Very disappointed with this Chinese takeaway we discovered.Egg fried rice didn’t have any egg it was mashyEgg noodles soup didn’t have any egg eitherChicken sweet corn soup was goodI would definitely say this place need to put in more effort

Confusing-I always love crispy chilli beef, but I couldn't finish the shredded chilli beef from here.. The coating was a weird texture, like soggy breadcrumbs, and tasted like old oil. There was a tiny amount of runny, very mild sauce which tasted like watered down syrup and was very strange combined with the beef and oil taste. Was kind of like eating a deep-fried jam sandwich with bits of chewy meat in itThe rice was also pretty greasy and I wasn't a fan of the giant spring roll, but the reviews are so good I'm wondering if it was just an off night?

Was at the silver bowl tonight for a beef curry and fried the best curry ever glad to see John the owner has improved the curry sauce and the beef has also been improved fantastic Chinese takeaway would recommend silver bowl to anyone

The best chinese takeaway in Edinburgh - honest but no longer seem to accept card payment online (only option is cash) so sadly I can't use them often now. silver bowl, please put this option back!

IMHO the best Chinese curry in Edinburgh. Good portion sizes, high quality meat and seafood. Their king prawns are large! The special soup is delicious.

Been 110% happy with Silver Bowl and have used them once a week for nearly 2 years but please guys revert back to the original Prawn Crackers, those new big round chunky ones are not nice and I now no longer add Prawn Crackers to my order and now have to make do with supermarket ready made. Please go back to the old style, I am sure I am not the only one who thinks this. Let's not start to spoil a perfect 110% review for over the last 2 years for the sake of changing to a less standard Prawn Cracker.

I am always cautious using Chinese takeaways. However... The Silver Bowls food is absolutely delicious... Highly recommended the beef it just melts in your mouth. The portions size is amazing. The food arrives piping hot, service has always been fantastic... Other takeaways could learn a thing or two from them... Probably the best Chinese takeaway in Edinburgh...

Read the existing reviews and decided to buy my first meal on 20/02/21- existing reviews were correct. Food delicious and love the fact that they serve in fully recycling takeaway containers (silver foil and tops). Wont hesitate to buy all my future Chinese takeaways from there. First class

I would give this place 10star's the young chow fried rice is the best. The king prawn dishes are fantastic, as many other dishes we have had the pleasure of scoffing. Best place in Edinburgh, a wee tad expensive not much though. But you pay for what you get, and that suits us. And its always piping hot. Plus the staff are friendly which makes a huge difference. Keep up the great service! ☺

Just received my chicken pad Thai. Portion huge, food still hot and all that delivered 30m before time. Happy with service and taste.
