Mussel in the name? Downtown tourist trap? Nah, the mussels were divine and well portioned for a reasonable price. I could’ve drank the broth right from the pot. So good, I wanted to go back again the next day. Next time I’ll order an entire baguette to accompany some of the best mussels I’ve tasted.

The food was simply amazing, mussels were fresh and delicious. Would definitely recommend as a good seafood option in town. However, There were some issues. Firstly, me and my partner ordered the same portion and received completely different amounts of food. Furthermore the service was shallow and distant, would recommended getting a friendlier staff.

I went here this evening on my first night in Edinburgh. The staff are very friendly. The food is freshly cooked and you can see the chefs making it.

Such a fantastic restaurant. Everything from the service to the incredible food! If you love seafood, you will love the mussel Inn! This small little space in the heart of the city is buzzing with atmosphere and perfection

The service was faultless and outstanding, as was our haggis bonbon starter and mussels and fries. The only reason I am giving a 2 is my seafood pasta was advertised as having queen scallops, mussels and prawns. Instead, for £20.50 I only received 2 prawns, mussels and no queen scallops at all. Not worth 20.50 and I should have gone for a pot of mussels instead for 8.50. The crusty bread was also slight burnt. Overall great experience apart from the pasta content.

Wonderful place with super delicious mussles and shells. Love the seafood platter and pasta which are very worthwhile for the price and amount is large. The service is also very good and nice. I will recommend it to who visits edinburgh and likes seafood.

Absolutely delicious food! Great service! They made our day! We are regularly coming all the way from Newcastle just to visit this restaurant in Edinburgh, and each time it is totally worth it!

The best mussels I’ve had so far. Tried cooked in 3 different ways: Moroccan – Chillies, garlic, ginger, coriander and cumin; Shallot – White wine, garlic, shallots and cream; Blue Cheese – Cheese, bacon and cream. Moroccan was my favourite as I like spicy food.

Highly recommended by a friend who stayed in Edinburgh - And we weren't disappointed after a visit. This restaurant serves fresh and tasty seafood especially they are famous for their mussel pots. We enjoyed eating here, the only concern was too many mussels and could hardly finish. So, I recommend you to order the seafood platters to have mixed of everything. Half kilo of mussel pot is enough for each flavour if you're not a big fan of mussels.
