Taxidi in Edinburgh

Both times I've been I didn't have the opportunity to make a reservation but that wasn't an issue. Sat outside with no rushed feeling from the staff. Food was about as enjoyable as it gets. Lots of small dishes, eaten at our own pace. Absolutely worth it.

First time trying Taxidi in Edinburgh and I have to say I wasn’t let down on any front.. The usual friendly Greek hospitality from the outset which made the evening really enjoyable. The owner who is from the northern part of Greece (Thessaloniki) explained his menu is based on this region. He recommended some starters and then the specials which were a Tomahawk port steak and some lamb chops. They were absolutely delicious, so tender and juicy (to die for).I thoroughly recommend to give this a try if you like Greek food.. one word or warning though is to book in advance as it’s not a huge place so better not to be disappointed by just turning up on the off chance of a table.Thank you to the team at Taxidi 👍🏼👍🏼

Warm welcome, we arrived 45 minutes earlier than booked but this was not a problem. A happy, friendly atmosphere, nothing was too much trouble. Food arrived, presented as it does in the photos & tasted absolutely amazing. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended 👌

Fantastic once again. From the Greek salad to saganaki ladotyri and Vouno above all. Amazing! Loukoumades are highly recommended for dessert! Owner is really nice and goes above and beyond to give you a great experience! Rest of the staff too, no complains at all, just happy smiles!

Really good quality foods, especially the meet platter. It says it is meant to feed 2 people but honestly it feeds 3 boys. The staff is extremely kind and it really gives a homey Greek vibe. And also, desserts are simply fantastic!

A delicious outdoor lunch for two: Green salad, delicious fava dip with capers, pita, leek and feta flogeres.

The food was lovely. Unfortunately we were a little greedy. The waiter was very happy to help (although he did sometimes look a little stressed). The food was lovely. Would definitely recommend.we chose the sharing platter. 3 adults ate this.

The food is exceptional. Everything I have tried was awesome and had the quality of hearty homemade food. Limited options for vegans, but you can find something like beans, chips, fava.The beef stew with the smoked aubergine poure is out of this world. The beans on the other plate where literally melting in the mouth. The hand-cut chips a wonderful surprise!The place has the vibe of a good Greek tavern. Busy, noisy, cozy, super friendly and all that comes with being Greek. Not the kind of quite/romantic restaurant. More like a community get-together where everyone is talking to each other. So if you like this vibe and good hearty food, you will love this place!

Loved this Greek Bistro, food was amazing and cooked with passion, the flavours were bang on and would recommend anyone to visit if your craving some good traditional Greek food, the service was very attentive and the host was very welcoming and friendly throughout, one I will say is due to Covid and the windows being open we made the mistake of turning up with the correct clothing, it is a bit cold as the evening comes in but it didn't spoil what was a really enjoyable evening with some top notch food 👍👍

I was invited by my lovely neighbor for a lunch to celebrate my new job. It was my first time there but fantastic food, great service and super friendly atmosphere 😍🤩Highly recommend this place for any occasion 👌
