Friendly staff, tasty food and good beer. Toilets were clean and the place looks beautiful!

A lovely, cosy little bar. Been going here for umpteen years but recently the cask ales - and even some of the RFU beers/lagers - have become almost undrinkable. Flat, lifeless ale. Even Wetherspoons does a better job than this! This is my first Google review and the dishwater that my pint ended up as now deserves one. It's patently obvious that the craft of cellar-keeping is absent from this bar.

Classic pub tucked a little off the main roads. Restaurant upstairs that I've eaten in before and has a nice cosy atmosphere, however this time we ate in the pub. Great range of whiskey and beers, the steak sandwich was superb and I am told the steak and ale pie was spot on too.

Great atmosphere Good ale and 64 wiskeys on the menu

We could have sat I this bar forever watching the bar manager. His build, his clothes, his mannerisms, the way he walked pulling his shirt sleeves down, it was like watching Basil Fawltey, a great asset to the pub and for people who remember the program. The bar itself was perfect and the staff brilliant. Well worth a visit for the entertainment value.

Great food. Large portions for starters and mains. Couldn't finish either meal. Place was busy for a Monday. Good menu too. Will go back there.

Until new "management" is appointed to this establishment I would avoid at all cost. Sabrina, the way you conducted yourself last night as a manager was completely unprofessional and out of order. Your lack of communication, understanding and customer service skills left myself, friends and other bar staff shocked and disappointed. It would appear we're not the only ones to have been mistreated while visiting here.

Lovely place, bar on the ground floor, the restaurant is upstairs. Super friendly staff, fast and swift. Not a very big place, but that's a big plus, you feel comfortable and relaxed. The restaurant that is.Carrot & horseradish soup + fish & chips, both excellent and all one needs for a late lunch after a few freezing December hours outside. The soup was delicious and hot, perfect winter starter. Best fish&chips I had north of the border. Not a fancy one, but enjoyable dish, always was. No offence to the other places though, I only visited few.

Great pub, good selection of cask ales, and the staff are great. The pub is a real looker too, nice oval bar and a great moulded ceiling. The oval bar means even when table service is the name of the game, the staff are still able to manage the pub well. Great spot

Excellent establishment. Good choice of beers, friendly staff. Went in for a couple beers on way to Rugby Scotland v Australia
