The Beach House in Edinburgh

Fantastic food and so many awesome drink options. The fact that they source locally and have so many gluten-free things is amazing. It was super busy when we went so we tried to be patient but our service was absolutely terrible - everyone else was getting served but for some reason our waitress decided that we weren't getting drink nor food. It was a mess. I'd go back but just be prepared.

Nice beachy relaxed atmosphere, pleasant staff ready to help, nice clean toilets, super wee meals at affordable prices, tasty coffee, choice of great homemade cake, incredible beach views, family friendly. Can be crowded on a sunny weekend day. No reservations possible.Really enjoyed a super brunch/lunch here - great lust of choices, healthy, nice bread... thoroughly recommend. Closes at 5pm.

Really good for a wee brunch. The bacon maple waffles are really good. The Earl grey tea could be better though. They gave us a lovely table with a corner view of the beach.

Tasty food, very busy restaurant but staff is no top of it. Quick service, friendly environment. Perfect for brunch on weekend with seaside view also great for group of friends, there are seats outside also available when the weather permit

Everything delicious as before. There was a nice waiter who left his nose out of his mask while serving us... Notty, noty waiter Happy holidays 🎅

A winter's walk along the Portobello promenade needs a dark hot chocolate or flat white... Then whilst you are there the poached plum & pear waffles with yoghurt has to be done. You deserve a treat, don't you?

Great views of the sea. Lovely staff. Brunch menu was ideal. We queue for 15mins to get a seat but it was worth the wait. They also serve spiced ginger punch which is lovely. Will definitely return. Also they have loads of vegan deserts which can be hard to find.

Fantastic breakfasting beachside place. Food options for omnivores, vegetarians, and vegans. Lots of fresh baked goods, coffee /tea choices, and fruit smoothies. Would highly recommend to all.

This place came highly recommended…But, meh. It really wasn’t worth going out of our way. The staff were rude and unwelcoming. One dish had been forgotten about, and by the time it came to the table - fifteen minutes after the other two dishes, some prompting, and no apology or explanation for the delay - was cold, lacking in taste and the poached egg was basically hard boiled. I could have returned it or mentioned it to the staff, but they had already made us feel so unwanted that I really didn’t want to draw out an already unpleasant experience further.Also felt it was all over priced for what it is, but I guess Portobello 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Beach House never disappoints. It’s great place to have a coffee with your dog after a walk down the beach a friend, have a work meeting or to just go for a weekend treat.Good coffee and delicious food.Indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside at one of their many parasoled tables and stayed dry, despite light rain.
