The Black Rose in Edinburgh

Stayed in Edinburgh for the weekend came here to watch the six nations rugby on Friday nite what a friendly, accommodating pub!!! Staff, food and service was second to none :) will def call in if we return to Edinburgh again!!! ❤🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Used to enjoy this place loads over the years. Dropped in for drinks went to get a second round and the barmaid ignored us a man jumped in he was served first. Staff were happy to stand behind bar talking themselves not speaking to customers not cleaning tables. Finished our drinks and walked and won't be back. Clearly need to learn customer service.

We only popped in for a quick beer and plate of chips, but they still provided excellent service. Skeleton guitarist added to the rock decor. So black inside that it was odd to come back out into daylight!

This place really wasn't what I expected to be honest. The music was good but the atmosphere was a bit wet otherwise. Staff didn't seem overly happy or engaging. The bouncer was actually one of the better parts of the customer service at this place, super friendly and helpful.

Awesome little pub, love the rock n roll theme! Great hot chips! And of course a fantastic location.

Just had haggis, neaps, and tatties, fabulous. Clean plates all round. Definitely recommend the food, and the music. You must like hard rock.

Ideal pub lunch, really tasty. Quick and easy, and a nice pint to top it off. Would definitely recommend here for a bite to eat in Edinburgh

It was an evening we chose something without investing. We walked by and felt the name charming same as the door man. It is an order at the bar establishment however when we were ordering a gentleman took our table. Fortunately another table had cleared and we were quickly seated. Busy place, great drinks but not wine if that is what you are looking for. Baked potatoes are good here.

Great little rock pub with friendly staff, nice food and good selection of drinks. Fiery burger is a must try tho sadly I think its off the menu now.

Awesome food, we were served quite quickly. :) the prices are also pretty good considering the portion sizes; the atmosphere is really cool, kind of like a rock bar, I loved the music, and there's a functioning jukebox so you can put on what you like.
