Had a lovely lunch here for Mother's Day on a beautiful spring afternoon. Having been here some 20+ years previously, the setting is still unspoilt, food was delicious, service exceptional and the surprise of a complimentary gift for the mother's was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Will definitely be returning.

We ate here whilst visiting Edinburgh on the weekend of 19-2-22. Lovely little pub. We were a large party and they bent over backwards to accommodate us. Food was excellent, and the service was very attentive, in particular Alistair our waiter. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Top marks Alistair.

Best set menu lunch I’ve eaten - worthy of a Michelin star but at a local pub price! Delightful, interesting veggie choices. Going to go there lots until it becomes impossible to book because of its fame 😁👍🏻

Food was quite nice although side orders were expensive. Service was extremely poor, 20 minutes to get a bottle of wine and 1 spirit. When I waved to one of the young guys in the kitchen to get someone to take an order he waved back, not impressed! If they are going to employ teenagers, great, but there is a serious lack of training.

I visited the Bridge Inn on Sunday for a celebratory lunch with a group of 12 . My friend had arranged the lunch for me. We were welcomed to a lovely long window table. We had a very helpful and attentive waitress. I have been visiting the Bridge Inn since the seventies and have always enjoyed the food. Unfortunately on this occasion 3 of our group ordered the Sunday roast which was pork belly . The roast pork arrived and a friend asked the waitress where was the the pork . She pointed it out as he had not realised it was pork belly . They then started to eat but another friend turned to me and showed me her pork slab when the skin was turned over there was not meat at all it was white fat. Normally pork belly is surrounded by fat but is tender and delicious . On this occasion the 3 friends all complained at there being no meat . The parsnips were raw and hard in the middle and the Yorkshire pudding was over cooked and hard. The gentleman complained to the waitress and said he hadn’t noticed pork belly on menu but there was still no meat. She got the manager. At this point there was a back and forth until the manager eventually said , “ can I get you something else “ . I was cringing by this time and feeling very uncomfortable with how a manager dealt with the complaint. My expectations would have been the first thing he said would be “ I am sorry, can I get you something else.” My friend then said don’t bother just take it off my bill. They had no lunch apart from the other 2 having dessert. We did not allow it to spoil our lunch and others all enjoyed their chosen meal. When we came to pay I explained I would pay for all the drinks and for 2 meals and others would pay theirs separately. The manager then went off in a strop , with a face like thunder at the till and the waitress offered to take the payments. It was very embarrassing all round . We eat out regularly and have never had an issue. When we say we will pay separately the reaction is “that’s not a problem” It appears to be a problem at the Bridge Inn. In normal times we would all pay together by cash but everywhere prefers you use a card during covid.I realise in any setting there are times things are not perfect and meals sometimes don’t come up to scratch but it is how it is dealt with that can make the difference.

The bar area is dog friendly, we had a lovely view over the canal from our table. Although the service was slow(there only seemed to be two staff), however the food was lovely with unusual and staff were friendly .

We went there for lunch, the gave us a table and we had to wait over 20 minutes for just the menus and because I approached the waiter, after we managed to order macaroni cheese for kids, a salad, a plain burger, no extras and onion rings the food came over 50 minutes later, no onion rings. We spoke to the waiter about it as we had to go to the kitchen almost to get the bill.He didn't apologise, he just gave us the card machine to pay and left.I found it ridiculous. We will never come back here with this customer service. We weren't the only table upset about the same issue.Quite disappointed

Great place to stay & eat - we only had a one night stopover but the staff were very accommodating & helpful. Evening meal & breakfast awesome. Highly recommend!

Good food but surly service..Going onto email would hide my comments so thank you so much for offer. But I found the welcome very frosty and the service unfriendly and the involuntary servicechsrge unacceptable. The owner was our waitress.

Was out cycling from Glasgow to Edinburgh and stopped here for food & a drink. Beautiful location next to the canal with lovely outdoor space. Service was relaxed and friendly and the food was superb! Best burger we’ve had in a very long time! Well worth a visit! However, could do with some proper cycle racks to park the bikes rather than leaning against a wall.
