The Buffalo Grill in Edinburgh

Been a regular for many years & and the steak is unbelievable, would highly recommend! Colin who runs the show is a gentleman and very helpful always does his best, thanks again for the great steak 👍

Excellent, friendly service in neighbourhood steakhouse. Food was delicious and the service was attentive but not intrusive. Great value for the food we had. We will be back again.

Had food with my partner and it was very delicious, the staff were awesome and very friendly too, it I went to university across the road I'd be in here all the time. :) 10/10

The restaurant was quiet for a Friday night but I suppose that's just autumn 2021 all over. Neighbouring places were all but empty. However the atmosphere in the BG was relaxed, warm and inviting.The food was excellent. I went for the ribs starter, steak main and sticky toffee pudding for desert. All cooked to perfection, very good portion size and well presented.Prices are obviously rising, but I suppose that's to be expected just now. Will definitely go again as it was 5*.

I used to eat here (and at their other, now closed, branch) at least once a month. Unfortunately the ownership changed and the new owner removed the few vegetarian options from the menu, leaving a single burger - and that's it. I check their menu regularly but it doesn't change. Shame really as whilst I enjoy a steak or burger, my wife is vegetarian and always enjoyed the old choices - a single veggie burger means we aren't coming in. For a "metropolitan" area such as Edinburgh, it's surprising that you no longer want to give a choice to keep people coming back when they're not all meat eaters in the party - a bit like how many other restaurants offer a take it or leave it risotto for the vegetarian guest. Edinburgh is way behind other UK cities in this respect - going backwards even.

We ate here on a Saturday, honestly because we had struggled to make reservations anywhere else. But everything happens for a reason! I'm so glad we stumbled across Buffalo, which is slightly off the Royal Mile but so worth a bit of a walk if you aren't staying near by.The steak was honestly one of the best I've ever had, cooked exactly as me and my partner asked, both of which were different. Have the t-bone! The sauce and sides were also perfect.The service was excellent to say it was the weekend and the venue is themed well with a nice atmosphere, good music etc.

Excellent, friendly, attentive service. The rib-eye steak was one of the best I’ve ever eaten - juicy and cooked to perfection. Lovely starters and desserts too. Will definitely return!

We had a great dinner here; superbly served, great burgers and wonderful Cajun salmon. A complete and delightful success

I'm a couple of dozens of Restaurants in and this might get the prize for the worst restaurant in all of Scotland.I was excited by the prospect of getting "charcoal grilled" and "grass fed locally sourced beef" as it states pompously on the outside of this establishment. I should have trusted my initial gut reaction when I saw the empty tables from outside. The prospect of a 4£ student Burger and the relatively good Google reviews were, however, enticing enough to lure me in.Let's be fair and start with the positives though. The fries were okay. Could have used more seasoning though. And they come with a ~3£ markup of the "4£ burger" which is just shy of false advertising.The negatives. The worst looking "Burger" I have ever seen in my entire 23 years of Burger eating experience. What these self-important people describe as "grass feed, cuddled to death organic Scottish meat on a brioche bun" turns out to be far worse then McDonalds. Look at the pictures I have attached. A disgustingly small, RAW and tasteless and dry (probably frozen) patty on a burnt bun, with some Mayo snot, tomato, 3 small bits of onion and 1 piece of lettuce. Absolutely bland, not even seasoned. That's how much they look down on their customers at this place. Quick money by ripping off people, nothing more.There's enough alternatives to this sad place. I just hope that they have a shred of decency, close down and let someone who can actually cook and cares about their customer take over this prime estate.
