I had been recommended this place and was looking forward to going for dinner after going to a show at the Playhouse but how disappointed we were getting served food that was not edible..The starter of haggis neeps and tatties was tasteless... The main coarse was steakpie which was pure grissle and the chicken pie had little chicken in it and was cold in the middle when seved I felt sorry for the waitress who was run off her feet due to lack of staff but was very apologetic and to be fair we were refunded the cost which was appreciated. The first impression wasn't good either as the table was sticky.... so bad that we nearly need a scraper to lift my fone from it. I don't like giving negative feedback but for this experience I feel I needed to.☹️ Hopefully it will make improvements as looks like it good wee place.

I've been here many times and not been disappointed. The prices are fairly standard and the menu has plenty of options. On the last visit I opted for the crofters pie and it was really good.

Thrilled with this place. I was worried they might not be as nice because they have the benefit of appealing to anyone who is a Sherlock Holmes enthusiast. But fear not! The food was outstanding and not too expensive. I had the haggis (my first) and my husband had the steak pie. Both were delicious and very filling. And do ask for whisky sauce, it was worth it. :)Great service, beautiful place. Definitely would go again and recommend.

The pub is nice and has a good atmosphere, the staff is friendly and kind. The toilets was clean and nice. The only bad thing was my food. The steak was very chewy. And my friends want to eat fish and chips but they only have one portion and they ran out of every fish. But after all we had a great evening there.

Fresh food, quick & friendly service, great atmosphere! Beer was little bit dissapointing but still enjoyable. Meat pie and scotch egg were truly amazing.
