Lovely building, which actually is the main reason we booked a table. We certainly weren't disappointed with the building/decor and our table was on a slightly higher level with great views of the inside of the Dome.Whilst it was Valentines weekend (13th Feb) we didn't realise how busy it was going to be.It looked like it was fully booked but not enough staff to cope with the huge demand. The bar staff etc. were struggling to keep up with the demand, with 3 or 4 trays of drinks poured but waiting for staff to take them to the customers.Whilst our food was tasty and well presented, one of of dishes was not cooked properly and also some of it was actually burnt. We did point this out and the waiter removed the cost of that dish from our bill.I would have been very embarrased if it had been a first date for valentines but as we have been friends since 1978 it was just rather disappointing.

It was a great place. Everything was perfect. Prices were very reasonable for this quality. If I lived in Edinburgh I would come often. The employees were smiling and interested. The interior was fascinating. The architecture and lighting were impeccable. I was very satisfied. Thanks,

Gorgeous place to visit; Especially during Christmas 🎄. It's decorated to perfection. We had a gorgeous meal from the festive menu. Professional staff who made our meal extra special. Enjoyed every minute of it. Highly recommended.

Walked past here the end of November in the evening. Didn't realise that you had to make a reservation. When I was there it was a 2 month waiting list. They have a fixed price early evening menu. The outdoor and indoor decorations are spectacular. Lots of people were taking photos.

Absolutely fabulous place, the Christmas decorations are out of this world!!!! I was told it takes 2 weeks to set up. Afternoon tea was delicious, hosts very helpful and friendly. An unforgettable experience.

Hard to mark The Dome. A billion points for the venue, both outside and, especially inside, amongst the most impressive interiors of all time. But. BUT...My goodness the service was dreadful. It wasn't busy, and there were plenty of staff, but none was interested in serving us. We waited too long without a drinks menu and when eventually we ordered, the drinks were delivered to the wrong table. And then carted off to another table, before finding their way to us. We waited too long for the bill which again was touted around other tables before reaching us.But get this, our table - NOT a dining table - had a lovely real candle but a salt and pepper set from my great grandmother's house. Why? It wasn't even decent salt or pepper, but even if it had been, do you REALLY think every table should have them, all the time. Good grief, if people want a snack with their drink, bring out the salt and pepper, but don't leave it out permanently. And don't have a stack of rather unappealing drinks and food menus stacked on the stunning circular bar. It's like something out of a greasy spoon.A quick circuit of the aforementioned circular bar to properly take in the beauty of the place unfortunately revealed a dozen or so empty wine coolers stored in full view of the diners. Have you NO storage area?Actually, what The Dome really showed was a lack of care and even less management. What a pity.

I took my sister to The Dome for afternoon tea and it was amazing, we had a fabulous time. The staff were super kind and helpful. The food was delicious and the Christmas decorations were insane. It is just the most gorgeous building and we truly loved the whole experience from start to finish. We had the champagne afternoon tea and the champagne was just beautiful. Everything was perfect and I would definitely return. Remember to make a booking if you come on a weekend otherwise you won't get in. Great work everyone who works there for making it such a beautiful place to be and enjoy.

City centre restaurant and bar so prices to match. Beautifully decorated with Christmas lights inside and out giving it a wonderful atmosphere. Booking is essential for the weekend at this festive time of year. Family of four had hot drinks, snacks of bread, olives, scones and cakes costing £35 (see attached receipt) but included a £4 service charge which is basically staff tips. The scones where tiny but light and tasty. Not best value for money but recommended for a great treat.

Best vegan afternoon tea I've ever had. Staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was amazing, wonderful scones with clotted cream and we loved the selection of cakes. The Christmas decorations really get you into the festive spirit. I would recommend to anyone.

Wonderful ambience, lovely atmosphere. Freshly prepared food, tasty, really lovely. Food was good. Risotto was tasty- didn’t need the melted cheese on top. Loved my hand dived scallop with the Seasoned apples and black pudding. The sticky toffee pudding- I’ve had better - the cake itself was a bit flavorless and dry, but nothing major. I still really liked this restaurant. Loved the fresh microgreens!
