Some of the best fish and chips I’ve had. Perfectly crisp batter, beautifully fresh fish, and a generous helping of quality fries. The service is very efficient and the views from the terrace are stunning. They get the fish in fresh and some of the staff have been here for years. They’re true professionals, and the proximity both to the sea and the fishmongers next door is no coincidence — everything is freshly caught and delicious.

The takeaway service was great add fast. Have to clean own table at the outside seating and be aware of seagulls that flying overhead. Food is tasty and affordable 😋👌

Took my partner for a birthday treat and it was just lovely, the restaurant and the staff were also divine especially Justyna she was so kind to us. She also made the best Bloody Mary’s we have ever had. My goodness we could of had 10.My partner ordered oysters and said they were delicious and fresh. I am a vegetarian (I know.. but he loves sea food and I love him!🤣) and ordered the cauliflower and chips and he had the halibut which were also delicious. My only criticism is the curried Mayo doesn’t really go with the curried cauliflower it’s a little to samey samey - I think a mango chutney would be betterWill certainly come again 🐟

The food was fresh and delicious. We ordered mussels, fried squid, deep fried cauliflowers for us, fish cake and chips for kiddo. All tasted yummy and the staff was super super friendly.Would definitely recommend it.The only one thing what bothered me was that you have to pay £1.50 if you want/need more sauce for your chips or fish and the portion they give us with the meal is not enough.Ketchup is free though.

We went on the off chance and were quickly given a table (two of us). The restaurant was very busy and short-staffed but our meal was delicious and served in good time. Hope to go back as it is excellent. Our waitress was Justina who was excellent and made us feel special even though we are not!

Visited The Fishmarket on Friday and was very disappointed. Usually I love the place but on this occasion I didn’t. The Service was very slow and took over half an hour to receive our starter which was oysters so not something that needed cooked. It was then another half hour until we received our main course. I would understand if busy but there were only 6 tables in the restaurant. I ordered a seafood stew which came and was very greasy (not like the picture on their facebook site). It was inedible and had to complain. Its a shame as always enjoyed the restaurant. I hope they are not forgetting their diners to focus more on takeaways and deliveries!

What can i say? Beautiful restaurant with great views of the harbour. The employees were so nice to us, the buttered haddock was fresh and delicious i really recommend the mussels as a starter!!! Nice place to eat fresh fish and seafood. I definitely come back.

I can't fault this place. Just been tonight for a meal with my wife before going home and all I can say is wow.The service was impeccable from the minute we walked through the door. The whole place is extremely clean inside. The food is just fabulous, the prawn cocktail is sublime. The monkfish was perfectly cooked as were the chips. My wife said the langoustines were the best she's had. Can't recommend this place enough, this is a sure fire visit whenever we're up here now.

We have been here for lunch, being near the sea and next to a fresh fish shop we thought it would be nice. The restaurant is elegant and clean, but honestly we were expecting something a bit different. First thing, the menù doesn’t offer too many choices, the calamari starter was really nice, but the mains we chose to try (monkfish curry and stew) were way too spiced, like with a strong oriental flavour which on my opinion completely covered the taste of the fish.Other than this the prices are quite high, the portions are large and I’m sure it’s good quality products, but I think the way they are cooked doesn’t make them justice.

Wow what an amazing restaurant, great food, good choice of wines and friendly staff. Very reasonably priced, the prawn cocktail was so good, the fish and chips was so tasty. We cannot wait to return when we are next in Edinburgh.
