The place is really nice, we had afternoon tea, and tea is good, and the cakes and sandwiches were ok. I expected smaller cuts but instead, sandwiches were like the normal size like in the shops.I guess we weren't very hungry when we went, because we didn't finish the whole lot but enjoyed the place and tea. Overall, place is beautiful and the staff were nice.

This is a 5-star restaurant with a diverse menu serving well prepared and presented meals in a jaw dropping ambiance. A special shout-out to Sasha who provided excellent and professional service. The reason for 3-stars and not five is that we arrived on time for our reservation but was told to have a seat in the bar area while I our table was being cleared. We waited for 15 minutes. When we arrived in the Grill Room there were several tables for two that were set and ready to receive diners. It is not cool to lie to customers in order for them to spend money at the bar.

·

Absolutely brilliant afternoon tea!!! Gorgeous building and decor! It’s very classy, cosy and relaxed in the Georgian Tea Room and the staff are really welcoming, but we were glad we reviewed afternoon tea etiquette on Google before coming. We dressed smart casual and felt comfortable in our choices. Definitely make an effort to dress nicely. Book a time slot before coming. Make sure to come hungry because you will leave absolutely stuffed! The tea and food are all lovely. This was such a wonderful experience! My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed everything and highly recommend it!

We went there for a family dinner. To start we had English cheese platter with lots of cheese but too few of crackers and old grapes. The main course lacked taste and the portion was small for the price. The celeriac steak was few deep fried mushrooms in batter, not possible to fill a person. The worst was an espresso cheesecake, which was really a mousse, sweet and lacking any other taste. Other people were also not impressed with their food. The service however was good and attentive. Please improve your dishes!

What a beautiful place. Went for dinner on our last night in Edinburgh. The service was first class and the food was excellent. It looked to good to eat as the presentation was first class. A wonderful 2 hours spent in the evening. Rounded off our trip superbly. Would highly recommend a visit. It is reasonably priced. For a treat or special occasion it was worth every penny

We had the festive morning tea back in last December. Seated in the Club Room instead of the Grill Room (i.e. the main hall), still a nice and decent dining space. The tea set was good though I can’t refer anything in it as exceptional. The service was rather outstanding, resembling that performed in classic luxury hotels. I would give it a second try.

That was a great feeling to have lunch in this excellent restaurant. I was worried for the dress code, but the staff were so polite not to make us feel unwelcome. The food was "music", the atmosphere like in a movie. I am glad I dared to go in side in jeans, but next I will make sure to respect the place and wear a proper outfit. You have to go there.

What an incredible venue!🤩 Such a pity that their service isn't matching with the look of the place!Food and beverage was great but we hadn't experienced anything like that in hospitality for long time. Our waiter was really annoying and unprofessional. He told us "we can't order yet because the kitchen is too busy now", or when I paid by cash he asked me if I want my change back and there could be a lot more to mention. He should be working in some low class corner pub with his "style" or just in McDonald's.

·

Gorgeous place to visit; Especially during Christmas 🎄. It's decorated to perfection. We had a gorgeous meal from the festive menu. Professional staff who made our meal extra special. Enjoyed every minute of it. Highly recommended.

I took my sister to The Dome for afternoon tea and it was amazing, we had a fabulous time. The staff were super kind and helpful. The food was delicious and the Christmas decorations were insane. It is just the most gorgeous building and we truly loved the whole experience from start to finish. We had the champagne afternoon tea and the champagne was just beautiful. Everything was perfect and I would definitely return. Remember to make a booking if you come on a weekend otherwise you won't get in. Great work everyone who works there for making it such a beautiful place to be and enjoy.
