I've been ordering from the Hill Station for approximately 20 years and tonight Sat 4th December was the worst takeaway ever.Rock hard/overcooked veg pakora.Undercooked chicken tikka.Nan bread both overcooked in the centre and undercooked on the outside.Lamb vindaloo was a spiced up Rogan Josh.Chicken Korma was okay.Has this establishment been taken over by new people? If so it's time to get a new job.Won't be back.

It’s really good. I do not come as often for takeaway because my oldest decided he did not like curry because it was spicy. They make one for the kids that is not, yet the silly boy then decided he did not like the almond in it. Anyway, when I have a meal for him I just get the takeaway. Some is super spicy and nice. The food is always good and plentiful in my case.

Delicious food to take out, it is so genuine and good value for money we literally could not recommend it more. It is our favourite take-away in Edinburgh, really recommend the chicken pakora, which not only are just 4 pounds, the portion is so generous for a starter you will feel like you're having a main instead. The main portions are also very generous, I had a prawn biryani which was full of delicious prawns and also large. I have eaten 2 meals out of it! So so so so good!

I am the owner of the hill station and today was going through the reviews of my take away and seen a fake review from a person named kirsty henderson.it is so sad to see people do these things in rivalry if they maybe in same business or by someone to get discount of a few pounds. i did not get any call nor a complaint ever of such kind, how is that possible what she write about our food.we follow the hygiene rules and recommendations by the books.we are in business for over 23 years and got the best reputation in the area and the fake review by this person is nothing but a pack of lies

23/5/19: Bought a takeaway from here which included lamb Madras, chicken korma, parathas and rice. Korma and rice were ok (korma had enough chicken in it), parathas were excellent, but lamb Madras had only 20% or less lamb in it. For c. £7 one would expect c. 30-40% of the dish to be meat, and not have to cough up £7 or so for a dish that is 80% plus slurp/goo/sauce - however tasty. This is the 2nd or 3rd time that has happened with this takeaway i.e. mean/stingy amounts of meat supplied in their lamb curries. Consequently I will be buying my Asian takeways elsewhere, & hopefully will be able to find an Asian takeaway in Edinburgh Morningside/Bruntsfield that is less stingy/ more generous in the amount of meat it puts in its dishes.

When it's good it's really good. Sadly, too often we've found, let down by slow delivery, burnt starters or missing items from the order. The woman answering the phone at weekends is possibly the grumpiest, least charming person I've ever had to deal with - if their was the option to get a personality transplant on the NHS she'd be the perfect guinea pig. Final straw at the weekend...they forgot the rice with our order.

Ordered king prawn jalbhuna - 5 prawns and sauce nothing else supposed to have onions and tomatoes they were none. Ate the 5 prawns and the sauce went in the food waste bin. The garlic naan was nice.

Absolute consistency and definitely no issues with insects as mentioned in one review. Been going here for over 3 years and it never disappoints. Set meals are great value and fairly quick even when busy. Tastes like proper curry!!

Ordered from this disgusting place and found dead insects in our curry! We thought it was raisins! We called them up and got abuse from the owner Arif! I could not believe the way I was spoken to. I have informed trading standards For the disgusting food as well as the customer service I received. Avoid at all cost! This place needs to be shut down

I have literally been coming here for half my life for my Indian takeaway fix. The owners are extremely friendly and the food always arrives quickly and of a great quality.Large menu and sometimes personalised tweaks can be asked for when you're in the shop.Cannot recommend this place enough if you live in the Morningside area.
