The McKirdy's Steakhouse in Edinburgh

Went for the short Tomahawk steak but not available on the night, selected the 10oz Ribeye with sweet potato fries, asked for medium and steak was perfectly cooked and the taste was okay however as you can see from the photo not much else on the plate for £27.99 and that’s not cherry tomatoes as stated in the menu.Given it was 5:30pm and just open with one other table, service was slow to average, overall gave 2 stars as I’ve had much better for less money and as a dining experience I wouldn’t comeback as I know there’s far better restaurant’s to be had in Edinburgh.

This place was recommended to me by a colleague and wow, what a great meal! The service was exceptional and the food delightful. Probably the best steak I've ever had. Its not a massive restaurant so booking is a must. We will definitely be back when we visit Edinburgh again.

Perfectly cooked steaks. At our table we had medium rare, medium and well done steaks all where to a T. Starters and sides where equally delicious. As was sticky toffee desert. Waitress Alison was very polite and informative. A great meal all at our table thoroughly enjoyed.

I was at McKirdy's with 2 friends last evening. We had haggis, mini sausages and ribs for starters and all had steaks for mains. They were all excellent. The staff were all very friendly. All round a great restaurant.

If I could give this place 100 stars I would by far the best burger to pass my mouth, I had the black and blue burger 🍔 absolutely beautiful. My partner had the 10oz sirloin steak medium rare and it was a beautiful piece of meat, staff was lovely highly recommended.

The Mac and Cheese is great and really hits the spot. The restaurant isn't too expensive, so if I was ever hungry and in the area, I would go there. But the food is pretty standard. The service is very slow though, I arrived at 6pm and left at 9:45, and that was just for starter and main, so you can imagine how long the food takes.

Exceptionally good steak, cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend the Clansman sauce to accompany too. Pudding was also very nice but the steak was the main event for sure!

From start to finish this place was amazing! The staff were brilliant and the food was even better! 100% recommend this place for food, and will be returning x

Amazing food and dinning experience! Small place that smells delicious and tastes the same! We got the garlic mushrooms for an appetizer! The sauce was a must have. And I ordered the ribeye seared in a pan and it tasted wonderfully!
