Fresh seafood and fish. Very good quality.Quantity for all the plates was generous but I think the fruit de mer platter deserves a bit more food considering the price.Waiting staff was attentive and nice.Dessert was lovely. It was 5 of us and we were a bit squizzed at the table.

Enjoyable visit with pleasant staff and good food. Totally ridiculous large portion sizes!

My husband and I came here last weekend for my very first visit in Scotland.I wanted some seafood and we knew this restaurant through google map and decided to go in because the review is quite good.We ordered a brown crab platter and 1/2 dozen of oyster, plus a portion of bread. The food and the wine (South African white wine) are really good. Everything is really fresh and delicious. The amount of food is definitely perfect or both of us.The restaurant has a big list of wine that might confuse you but I believe they have good wine collection. Also the bar looks fancy with many strong alcohol.Highly recommended.

Wonderful restaurant. I don't like fish, but my partner loves it, and this restaurant was recommended to me. I had the most amazing soup ever, as a starter, a delicious steak for main, and the most amazing snickers cheesecake for dessert. Highly recommend a visit if in Leith

What a wonderful sea food restaurant! Cosy friendly with first class sea food. A menu to suit all rates. Really enjoyed our special evening out.

A posh seafood restaurant and bar that serves delicious dishes. It has almost a jazz bar like atmosphere and the interior decoration is rather unique. The food is really nice and the staff are very professional and efficient. We are giving 4 stars because it is relatively expensive but the food doesn't have a wow factor. £18 for fish and chips, although a good one, invites some novelty and innovation.

Lovely atmosphere, wonderful service and a wide range of seafood that will keep you coming back to try it all.The servers checked in on me often (without being annoying) and poured my wine or switched out my full shell bowl. They were also kind enough to make me an affogato even though it wasn't on the menu.I cannot state how lovely the service was.

Possibly the greatest seafood platter I ever seen. The hot one, around £85 comes with king and queen scallops, lobster, crab, mussels, cockles and potatoes, served with garlic butter. An absolute feast, every mouthful better than the next. Unbelievable food, only criticism would be the staff who were disengaged, and didn't do the whole experience justice.

Excellent experience. Booked via phone call the day before and got a spot for 2 hours the following day.Host was nice and welcoming. Good choices of wines and other drinks. Not too expensive. We didn't wait long for our starters and mains.Had a seafood platter from a different restaurant the evening before and we can both admit that the Ship on the Shore is better value for both quality and money.Service was good. Lovely waitress noticed when our bowls were full with shells - so would swap accordingly. Also, she noticed that our drinks were getting empty so asked us if we wanted a refill. The restroom was small but quite posh.Relatively close to the city center (20 minutes by bus) and close to the Royal Britannia and the shopping center.Would definitely come back here for seafood platters.
