Viva Mexico in Edinburgh

I loved this place. The food had a real Mexican taste. They have a variety of Mexican dishes, giving more options than just tacos. Super recommended!

Cute little restaurant, nice vibe. The food was nice, though did have a bit of a pre-made feel. Despite that was good and we enjoyed the variety. Great location off the royal mile and a nice alternative to the chain tourist restaurants. Worth a visit.

Food is average. The guac is super creamy, which I’m not a fan of and they give you a tiny bit. The refried beans are not good and super stuck together and get clumpy. I docked a star because the half liter marg is only 3 drinks (honestly probably 2.5 glasses if anything even though they said it is 3-4 glasses). Service was good and very cute decor.

Awesome food, loved the salsa! We shared a starter and had mains and a couple beers. Great value and service. Authentic Mexican vibes inside!

Before the pandemic, I often came here with friends, and we’d share lots of starters, especially guacamol, beans and salsas with corn chips, and the food was always perfect - I’m very picky about good and authentic Mexican food, and eating here has always been a rewarding treat.More recently, I’ve gone a few times by myself, but I end up having to take a lot of it home to enjoy later, as I fill up too quickly on the guacamol, beans and sonoras 😍

What a delight. Great place with friendly staff! Margarita was ice cold, strong and sour and had a good kick. Pork tacos w/pico de gallo were absolutely amazing, you could tell the tortillas are homemade, great depth of flavour to them, meat was soft and well seasoned and pico and salsa were superb. Chipotle ribs were so rich, perfectly seasoned and just delicious. We also had horchata - really really delicious rice drink (very rich and creamy though, might be even a dessert substitute) with a shot of rum. Will definitely go back for a full dinner, can’t wait!

Edinburgh has quite a few options for Mexican fare. Viva has to be on the list if you're aching for some authentic Mexican food. A bit pricey, but well worth it. Indoor and outdoor seating and surprisingly the margaritas were on point. We spent £50 for two with one drink each, 2 mains and starter. Ask for the super hot salsa and let it burnnnnn.

Great place with a good decor and atmosphere. Staff were attentive and friendly. The food was nice, city prices as you'd expect. Mojito jugs are a bonus!

The food is amazing. The fried chili's had a nice spice and great dip. The Nachos were great! We both got the pork with avocado salsa enchiladas.The venue is very nice. The servers are friendly, and attentive, but didn't seem to understand multiple aspects of the menu. No big deal though! Loved it here!
