Esk Valley Table Table in Midlothian

We didn't order food this time, but sat in very comfy seats and enjoyed our cuppas! A welcoming place and lovely ambience. I hope to come back and try their food!

Even with a 40% discount from the normal price it was poor value. The yellow blob in the photo is mashed potato which has been reheated and developed a crust.

Its just okay, nothing more, food was edible but basic, the sharing platter was deep fried frozen item's, our granddaughters gammon had lots of fat, restaurant was also cold, told it was because if frozen air con vents on the roof, that need defrosted each morning, odd really as it was 5:00pm, more a case of not putting the heating on, hadn't visited for two year's, won't be rushing back.

Very friendly staff and food was lovely. Looking forward to my next visit.

We went for lunch and even though we ordered our meals from the main menu and not the saver menu, we found that the servings were small and badly presented as though we had ordered from the two mains for £8.99 saver menu. My first option that I ordered of the menu wasn't available. The food was rather bland, really just cheap pub grub. I would advise anybody going for lunch to order from the saver menu it definitely isn't worth the main menu price. Don't know if we will go again, there are much better places to eat within a few hundred yards, at similar prices.

Group of 12 people we where. Got seated and then served drinks then after serving us drink and ready to take our orders they informed us nearly half the menu was missing. Blamed it on supply chain issues which is understandable, but what is wrong is waiting until we are seated to say we are missing a lot of things that should of been said the second we arrived.

Staying at Premier Inn next door. Arrived Friday lunch, my own data no connection nd ultimate WiFi paid, still nothing.However restaurant in table table Esk Valley, has normal working WiFi.It's eat out help out 4obight,due to no Internet had to book for a table in house. Premier Inn apparently can't take dinner bookings.Menu sticks to tables due to covid cleaning products, hmmm OK, make your own thoughts.So, had a Cider, £4.35, asked for lime wedge, they don't have any. Oooh, nothing else in area so no choice. You can't walk to anything else, tesco and McDonald's down the single carriageway, no footpath.Pub website says 11,yet closes when empty due to no footfall, fair enough. But you will not know this unless asking.It's 9.26pm and restaurants fully closed on the new Saturday night. Bar open until 10pm maximum.Can't say overly impressed.

The staff are lovely and friendly and the chefs are probably good too but the standard and quality of ingredients just isn't there.
