Old Colliery in Midlothian

Visiting Edinburgh we had the pleasure of eating here a couple of times. Calum and his team were amazing, very efficient and extremely friendly and helpful. Can't praise them enough. Food was to a high standard with very quick service. We will definitely visit again when in the area.

We have visited this pub before, and came back because of the warm welcome. They are happy to have campervans if you buy your evening meal. The food is good, and the staff couldn’t be lovelier. We will definitely be back.

Just been for a lovely meal. Food was excellent we took the dog and she loved the sausages from the dog menu. Such a fantastic idea. Service was brilliant. Calum was fantastic. Can’t praise him enough. Will definitely be back.

Had a wee dinner here with the family. The 2 for 1 offer is good, probably wouldn't have went if this offer wasn't on. The food was OK, ordered 2 pizzas and a burger. The pizza's were nice but small, i'll definitely order fries with it next time. My husband said his meal was ok but the quality of the burger meat wasn't the best. Desserts were good, and had a good selection of drinks/wine to choose from. The service was a bit slow, and requests for another round of drinks and the bill were forgotten and I had to remind staff, but I appreciated the staff team were busy so it wasn't a problem. Overall, for 3 mains, 2 desserts and 2 rounds of drinks (which included wine), the bill came to £60 which I believe to be fair. Would return again in the future.

Very nice👍We had 'brunch' here (OK, a late breakfast😁) and it was excellent.Annie, our waitress, was really friendly and helpful and took our order quickly and efficiently.The food was great.... I had the cooked breakfast and my wife had the cooked breakfast bap.It was all cooked fresh and tasted lovely.No photos of the food, sorry, it looked so good, we just scoffed the lot😂Will definitely be back soon...maybe for dinner.

Fantastic Saturday lunch. Table available without reservation. Fast, friendly service and a fresh, tasty meal. We were well attended but not smothered- will definitely be back with the family! Thanks Calum and team :)

I usually enjoy this restaurant as it is good value for money (if you visit in even numbers) with a variety of treat food.As my pictures show, the menu has a buy one get one free option on main meals, which make them all great priced if you are visiting in even numbers.I ordered the nachos followed by pizza and side fries, which filled me up.I gave it a 4 stars instead of 5 as one time i visited, the pizza was much smaller than usual but it is best to just ask the size of pizza before ordering, which is what i did on this occasion.I will continue to visit as the prices are very good and i am happy with the food!
