The Food Lodge in Midlothian

Used to be my go to, Wasn’t as nice the past few times I’ve had a takeout meal. Never sat in for ages so can’t comment on sit in meals

Great service and good food. I took my wife and we both enjoyed the atmosphere and service. Very clean and enjoyable.

I have tried all the rest But not Impressed...This place is easily By Far The Best...in Penicuik. Food was on time HOT. And very tasty .

Delicious food and really nice waiter. Henny made our meal that much better with his friendly service.

Just ordered wun ton.....worst I've ever had. Brick hard with sausage meat. Sauce tastes like gravy. So bad!

Food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering! Was never cooked fresh! Could not eat it! Worst Chinese I've ever had! Would not recommend! Lee garden best Chinese in Midlothian.

Ordered chicken chow mein and shredded beef in chilli sauce.Chow mein - soggy noodles, tasteless, overcooked rubbery chicken.Shredded beef in chilli sauce - more like shredded beef in ginger sauce.. there was almost a full piece of ginger in it.. no chilli at all and really quite horrible. On the brighter side the beef had a good texture.. i guess ha.Will not be ordering from here again, first and last time.Out of the places in Penicuik i'd say golden bell and jade palace are a bit better..

Lemon chicken was so tough it was inedible. Even a steak knife struggled to get through it so what chance have human teeth got. Sorry to write this as I used to love the food lodge, don't know what happened but its gone way downhill

Enough is enough - had to say something about this evenings meal.I’ve had a few poor meals from the Food Lodge Penicuik, but this evenings carry out, pork curry, was inedible.The staff are nice but the food leaves a lot to be desired!One of the reviewers said that the Food Lodge was ‘the best in Penicuik ‘. This does say much for the others.It used to be excellent but standards have dropped.I won’t be ordering from the Food Lodge again.
