Had a meal here with a friend recently on a Saturday. This place is so popular that bookings are tight and you’re reminded they might need the table again after a certain time. Nevertheless, the staff are efficient and welcoming. Although I hadn’t been for several years the good standard of food was just how I remembered it. Easy to see why it’s so busy!

Great food. Good staff nice atmosphere. Lovely wee let cal pub, more of a restaurant now due to covid to be fair but better off for it.

Just popped in for lunch! Unplanned, no booking, hadn't been back for about 6 years!Well, nothing had changed except some decor and COVID protocols. No probs as all in order 😀Ambience is very important and it's very comfortable and relaxed.Super range of food in the menu, and at a particularly reasonable price compared to other places I have eaten in recently. So having a guest with me i was a bit concerned that the low price might reflect on the quality of the food. Not only was I wrong to be worried, but my guest and I agreed that the food was of a very high standard. My guest commented - three times! - on how good his beef and ale pie was, with plenty of beef, lots of gravy and in a delicious pastry. I would have been in "food envy" but my battered fish was superb. Fresh, thick (and large) haddock in a crisp well tasty, and perfectly cooked batter, .... and with a nice wee pot of mushy peas!So we were enjoying ourselves and couldn't resist the Bramley Apple pie - choice of custard or ice cream - great! Service was excellent. "Good old Livvy Inn". Enjoy!!

I suggested to my partner we try out the Livingston Inn for a few drinks. The bar was full so we asked if we could have drink in the lounge/restaurant area. We were told no. There were tables in front of the bar empty and a few at the side of the bar also empty. There were 12 people eating in the restaurant with lots of empty tables around. I'm happy business is so good that you can afford to turn away customers wanting to spend money! Very disappointing. We won't return. One member of staff muttered to another, mmm no seats in the bar!! Not good customer service 😕

Food was standard for pub grub, would even describe it as good food ha! Even tho the staff were busy they kept our table served without hassle which is nice to see that level of professionalism.

What a poorly run place .we were shown to the empty bar while we waited on or grandson finishing school. We shared a bottle of wine and everything was OK until a couple came in with a small noisy dog which we can put up with. but the problem was the male proceeded to chain smoke in open view to all the staff (its illegal) the bar was rancid with the smell. We took our drinks to the lounge which was absolutely empty as we sat down we were set apon by a waitress growling that these table's were not for drinking at and if a party of 5 came in we would have to move (the place only had 2 othercustomers apart from us .one smoking like a chimney we finished our drinks and left and took our grandson for food elsewhere. We will not return

Been here for lunch a couple of times now. Both the staff and food were excellent on both occasions. Will definitely be going back!

Went in for a quick bite. Got 2 starters only which I shared with sister. Really lovely. Was amazed at their Gluten Free selection and will go back for a proper meal next time. Great to have somewhere with such a good selection and dog friendly. Service was also really great.

Fantastic service, very friendly and attentive staff. Food was perfect, presented well but not fussy or ridiculous. Kids menu could do with more choice but my girls just got an adults portion of macaroni cheese and shared it. All in all a very good relaxing experience.
