Alpino Fish & Chip Shop in East Renfrewshire

Wish I’d seen the reviews before parting with my cash ..... the lot went in the bin !Absolutely no excuse for getting fish n chips so badly wrong...!!!!!The owners of the Barrhead fish n chip shops really need to take themselves to Enzo’s (formally Mario’s ) Paisley Road & they might learn what proper fish n chips should look & taste like !!!!

Chips were last nights onion rings had no onion in them salad looked brown last weeks a think place has went down hill since the hamilton accies moved in never again lost a customer cos yous cant produce fresh chips thats your business fs keep ma 30 quid last ul get off me !

My family have been using Alpino's since way back when Alberto and Nancy used to run it (30 years ago), always 5☆ fish and chips. Love their food and would never need to go anywhere else 💖

Not sure if under new ownership, but sitting in today for 2 fish teas, was a poor experiance. Chips not great and fish was very thin and dry, and the whole sit in area was freezing. Not one member of staff had a mask on..Waste of £16 will not be back

Thought I'd found a place that actually cooks the food you buy. Seems not. So sick of getting home to find I can pick off the individual strands of grated cheese off my pizza. If I wanted to cook my own I'd get it from a supermarket.

On the occasional hot day in Scotland, you get a really generous helping of ice cream for a very reasonable price!

The last time I was in there the pie was brick hard and dried up tasted very strong so Couldn’t eat it that was months ago it put me right off, so decided tonight I would get a black pudding super, the chips were ok a bit cold the black pudding I honestly struggled to pull a bit off it ,the batter was quite dark and so tough, I ended up eating the bits inside as I was starving took pictures but no place to post on review, so I won’t be back again

I order the same ever time which would get5/5stars... but not tonight homemade steak pie the stew was so chewy, it was looks like it was just boiling then added to gravy, the pizza i ordered too was burnt right round I know pizza crusts sometime nice and golden but it was burnt...

This has got to be the best chip shop in scotland by a country mile nice friendly staff spotless and the food is 2and to none

Great restaurant, the chef came out and stamped on my toes but the guacamole was crazy good so its all chill.
