Ashoka West End in Glasgow City

Had a meal here 4 years ago and it was awesome. On our first trip to Glasgow after covid, we called again this week. Although the interior has had a refurb, the food was nowhere near as good. There was a lengthy delay for the main course and when the curries did come they lacked a real depth of flavour as both meals were just overpowered with chillies. Service was friendly, but the place seems to have gone for the tourist market, serving large naan breads and overpriced meals. Sorry, but this visit we were not impressed.

Absolutely fabulous family meal. Lovely restaurant, delicious food and staff were attentive and unobtrusive. Lovely place to relax and enjoy amazing food. Thanks to Gedhanjali for looking after us 👌🏻

Really disappointed with Ashoka tonight, we had some friends over and decided to order take out and I suggested Ashoka because our previous experiences have been good. Unfortunately after picking our order up we got home to find out that there were some food missing and they had also provided the completely wrong meal. Our distance and time to go back and change was not practical and we had to make do, our friends put a brave face on but it was embarrassing as I had suggested the place. Not sure I’d use or recommend again unfortunately!!

Popped in on a busy night, and hadn't booked,still managed to accommodate us for a limited table time, which was excellent. Food was first class and staff were excellent with a bit of banter as well. Great experience.

How is it that we have the best Indian food in different countries then our own!? We have plenty of Indian restaurants but it’s not the same. On our visit to Glasgow, one of our friends recommended this restaurant. And it did not disappoint! The flavours were phenomenal! Loved the naan with cilantro (coriander)and Garlic!! Portions were good, and pretty good value for your money, well I mean if your actual currency is in pounds and not in CAD haha. The staff were pleasant, we really enjoyed our meal. Very good food! The price is worth the portion and taste. Would love to come back again someday. The atmosphere is quiet and smells amazing
