Booked a table here for a Mother's Day celebration. Paid a deposit to secure a table. I'd been before just for a coffee and enjoyed the live music on Sunday afternoons. I thought my mum would have a great time....We waited over an hour for our food and when it arrived, mine was lukewarm, messy on the plate and totally bland (Mushroom Stroganoff) . The tomato sauce accompanying my son's meatballs was also totally bland. The staff were genuinely sorry we had such a bad experience, they apologised sincerely. However the owner-a greedy little man- displayed a lack of basic courtesy. I won't be back. The 1 star is directed at the lovely staff- especially the long haired woman working behind the bar and the manager. The owner is lucky to have them- though I doubt he appreciates that.

The only pub I have ever been offered a free pint, food is great very well priced filling and tasty, no foams or deconstructed dishes just tasty, great range of beer and gins, could do with more selection of vodka but they do have about 4 different brands, only seen the Swing/ Jazz band that's on every Sunday and they are very entertaining, can be a bit loud when all the wind section are playing but nothing compared to any solo guitarist playing through an amp.

Great night spoiled by over zealous police, no laws were broken, they came in stopped people from dancing, grabbing their drinks of them, non alcoholic, more and more arrived intimidating people, demanding they leave, no laws wereBroken, this is a great friendly establishment, great friendly staff , visited by various “meet up” groups, lovely atmosphere, the police were outrageous, everyone was seated, ticketed event, they continued to arrive in numbers, lots of people filmed the madness. Fully support the staff and management, they did nothing wrong

Great night spoiled by over zealous cops, storming in, removing even soft drinks from people, telling them they are not allowed to dance, this is not law!!, they charged in, intimidating people, this was a scheduled ticketed event , everyone seated for New Years meal, singer, they kept coming in numbers, telling people to get out, again there was no laws broken, searching toilets, a guy was bundled to the ground, they acted like a SWAT invasion, the occasion was quite, peaceful attended by a couple of”meetup groups”, lots of folk in kilts, lovely dinner, excellent well mannered staff, the police were also in and out the toilets, more arrived, demanding everyone leave, the , if you arrive with someone. You dance with them and no laws were broken, piper not allowed to play, music of, they walked about as if it was a gangster scene out of a movie, I am a regular at this place, and it is always excellent, hope the management can take this further and others, and involved organisations have something to say, police continued to arrive, bullying tactics, when I left, still more arrived, people filmed the scene on their phones and badge numbers were taken, fully supportive of management, all middle aged couples and women seated having a meal, then this disgraceful behaviour of the “force”, very well named. Will be back to this establishment, there was no trouble, nothing, then man was on the floor with police on top of him

Good food, live music on a Saturday, great atmosphere. Reasonable priced drinks. One issue, the Ceilidh use to be free. Now charging £5 entry!! Don't know why. One staff member said it was something they were trying. We were leaving anyway, but felt we were being ushered out the door. That aside, jazz band and singer were brilliant. Great afternoon. Definetly worth a visit.

This is certainly a very fun place to be and if you ask about the fun part i would give this place 5/5z but food and drinks left me with less of an impression. While i enjoyed muscles so much tge Cesar salad was horrible. Same with coxktails, while i enjoyed one of them tge second one was completely off

Despite Covid 19 impacting on their business viability the two staff on duty were cheery, warm, welcoming and upbeat. It was lunchtime and this venue that would normally be busy had three other customers sat together at their table.I had the potato soup and the mushroom risotto. The soup came with crusty sourdough bread and butter. The risotto was rich and delicious and I can't recommend it strongly enough. The Coca-Cola came in a closed can with a glass of ice. This venue is well known for it's live music particularly folk and ceilidhs. Great for tourists and visitors to get a taste of Scotland including Scottish country dancing. It is a little sad to know that for the foreseeable future there will be no Live music and the dance floor will have no Strip The Willow or Gay Gordons.Hopefully they will survive the pandemic as it is a great venue and is one of the only places in the Glasgow city centre / Merchant City where you can experience a Ceilidh. There is a full size statue of Robert Burns sitting on a throne that is either a new addition or I just hadn't noticed before.
