The Shoal was exhibiting at a trade show in Glasgow and we decided to dine out as a fabulous treat after a busy day. We were not disappointed! The service was excellent and the naan breads and poppadum were delicious. There was so many vegetarian options to choose from and their own lager is a winner. A really great place to go with a good vibe.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Service was attentive, food was tasty and spicy. For our mains we had Chicken Korma, Chicken Tikka Masala, garlic Naan. All were beautifully flavoured with lovely fresh ingredients. Unlike many Indian meals they were not at all oily. Definitely one of the best Indian meals that I have ever tasted. The food was superb but the waiter's service also ensured that we had a really enjoyable meal. We will definitely return.

Went in for a bite to eat, lovely little restraunt, friendly and fast staff and great food! Will be back in the future to try a different curry. Would definitely recommend going in if you get the chance.

This is the best Indian Food I have had in my time abroad.Firstly, the food was super duper good. Chicken tikka and Paneer tikka were actual INDIAN dishes and not modified versions. Served with authentic tikka massala and chutney just like it is originally prepared. Kadhai Paneer, Chana Masaala were finger licking and the Garlic Cheese naan was the best naan I have had ever.(cheese and garlic could be tasted properly) The aroma of the food itself was enough to judge the taste.Secondly, the owner, Mr. Bali's hospitality is above beyond any words. He keeps an eye on every customer and ensures food is delivered on time.Third, the quantity of the food was amazing.Last but not least, the space, aesthetics and INDIAN feel was top notch. We loved each bite of our food. Also, gulab jamun with ice cream was the cherry on top!!!!!!!!!

If you want the real taste of North Indian food look no further. I've wandered and ate at so may Indian restaurants but they never really ticked the boxes. Right from starters to mains to deserts, the food is finger licking good. Place has a great ambience and is very hygienic. Covid protocols are well followed. A must go to place! Cheers!

One of the best in the town!Till date we went here 4 times, everytime nice food was served, even complimentary soup was also served. This is a real hidden gem in the town when it comes to the Indian food. Food is very close to the authentic Indian taste and quantity wise, it is also very good. Price is also good compared to quantity and we find staff always nice. Keep it up!

Fabulous food, generous portions and very reasonably priced. The lamb dish was amazing and the most tender slow roasted melt in the mouth lamb I have had in any Indian restaurant. Staff are all very welcoming and pleasant. Green Gates Cafe is a must visit if you're in the merchant city or indeed Glasgow. We'll done guys 👏

Really good, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere with nice surroundings.Different from the usual places.Nice selection of food fresh and cooked well. King prawns were delicious best I have had. Husband had lamb chops which he liked as well. Mains were great to. Bottle of water supplied which I thought was a nice touch. Would recommend this place to vegetarians also.

Mixed review of this place.Food is great no question, however, we waited over an hour for our poppadoms which came well after our pakora.Staff seem a bit of a riot to be honest, one guy seemed to attempt to take control which resulted in organised chaos.Maybe overwhelmed by the success of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme.Very apologetic for our wait but no offer of a complimentary beverage or money off the bill. There’s plenty of better Indian Restaurants competing for business in the Merchant City area.

Beautiful restaurant. Food was delicious and service was excellent. Street food range with the more traditional curry dishes which you can order small or large to share. Prices are reasonable too! Would recommend to anyone wanting to try some nice Indian food in Glasgow. The honey chilli potatoes were delicious.
