Dumpling Monkey in Glasgow City

Last week I visited Dumpling Monkey after being turned away from another restaurant nearby (for being a solo customer). When I walked into Dumpling Monkey I was greeted and immediately felt settled. The service, along with the food and prices were all very impressive. I returned today for a second meal and it was just as good, if not better than my first visit! By far one of the best chicken curries I’ve ever had.

The food at this place is amazing! This is the best Chinese I have had in the in all of United Kingdom. We live in London and every time we go up to Scotland, we make sure we end up at this place for dinner at least once.However, please be prepared for a poor service. The staff can come across borderline rude and unhelpful. The food still makes it worth the visit.

Ordered here for the first time. Walked in and no one greeted me. The staff cleaning the floor just looked at me then continued to what he was doing. I walked up to the counter to order a meal to take away. They told me to wait outside when it was cold and wet even though the restaurant was empty. I know we're in the middle of the pandemic but they could've asked me to sit in a corner so we can social distance. The food was average at best. Won't be back unfortunately. Doesn't seem like customer service is their priority.

Dumplings are definitely the star of the show!Dan Dan noodles were rich, comforting and spicy. However it had a thick layer of oil on topVegetable chow mein was a bit bland but the chili oil made a difference.All portions were huge and worth their price.Staff was quick to serve, friendly and aware of any Covid protocol. The restaurant has a great and intimate atmosphere.

Service was relatively friendly, all plates came out within minutes. Char siu were lacking flavour and could have been stronger/sweeter but the pot stickers and salt & chilli chicken were amazing

Very authentic Chinese food!The restaurant is fast paced and very organised.The food portions are really big for the price too!They also do boba and herbal teas :)

Incredibly affordable and great quality. The dumplings are amazing and I usually get the rice noodles which I absolutely love. The portions are quite big. I have had a few problems with orders in the past but once I called the restaurant, the were incredibly willing to fix it, and they sent the right item free of charge. Good food, good quality, good portions, good prices, and good service.

Extensive menu catering for everyone, very tasty food and lovely service! The beef with ginger and spring onion was saucy, tender and delicious. The Thai king prawns was also a great dish. The fried wontons are amazing! We really enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend this place for Chinese food.

Very basic, reasonably priced, very popular restaurant. Tonight’s food was good, without being able to say why I feel I have enjoyed it better on previous occasions.At my table and others there were mistakes and omissions with the orders.During my visit a large JUST EAT box was gradually filled with numerous home delivery orders. Obviously some people would be waiting a long time for their home delivery. (Faults lie with Just Eat and not the restaurant imho)Given what I saw would I order a home delivery from this restaurant? NO. Will I return to this restaurant? YES.

Beef flank soup is amazing. Super tasty, full of flavour, even my very picky girl had some of the udon noodles and soup. My partner's spicy beef soup was very tasty and very spicy.
