I love this place! The food is amazing, the service is fantastic and the atmosphere is relaxed. The staff are very helpful and friendly - they go above and beyond to make sure everything is just right 😊

Brilliant decor, had to ask what the building was before. You would never have guessed it was a cinema. You could happily buy a book from Waterstones across the road and lose yourself in a novel and a pint here .

Hillhead Bookclub is a nice pub with tasty cocktails but don't expect the menu to be very cheap. The place is very warm and cozy. They have arcade games, table tennis etc. which makes it a good place to come with friends, if you are looking for a bit more than drinking/eating. They do have bit of a problem with table service. They take quite long to go around tables and take orders but I give that to lack of staff and restrictions. Apart from that very nice place and nice cocktails, will visit again.

I usually enjoy coming here but this time the service was quite off. After we finished our food we were expecting them to come over and maybe ask for dessert or more drinks but instead they just handed us the bill. We hadn’t even asked for it yet so it felt very abrupt as I was still wanting a drink. So after we had paid the bill I went up to the bar to order a drink but the guy said it was just table service and that someone would just bring it over. 15 minutes later it wasn’t there so we just assumed they’d forgotten and we left (nothing was paid for yet though). Aside from that we all enjoyed our meal.

Extremely unhappy. Went in for a drink with my wife. Had to sit down for table service, as expected, due to the covid restrictions. What I didn't expect, though, was to be charged extra for the privilege. 10% service charge added to the bill. Didn't notice till later on, when I looked at the receipt. A shameful piece of profiteering on the back of a pandemic. 3 drinks and £1.22 added to the bill. I know it's not a lot of money, but if they're doing it with every drinks order it will make them a fair bit of added profit. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Hillhead is one of my favorite bars. They do amazing food and drinks and the ambience is 10/10. Between the giant disco ball, great decor, and ping pong tables you can spend hours there. It doesn't get full marks though because the service is slow and it's hard to find a table as a walk-in on busy nights.

Awful experience I was out with my Daughters and Grandaughter for what we hoped would be. a nice lunch .My Granddaughter was given a vegetarian curry when she ordered Chicken it was sent back just to be returned .I am gluten free and I ordered a Burger to be told I would get Bread instead of a roll ,that was fine by me... it came with a roll I asked is this Gluten free O YES was the reply .I was quite ill obviously it was not. We ordered a pitcher of Bloody Mary I think they forgot to add the Alcohol .We will never be back plus it was freezing

Great bar/restaurant, really friendly staff who were attentive and the service was excellent. Very reasonably priced food and drink. I also took a pic of the Vectrex I noticed, a peace of home gaming history for those of you who know 😁 Highly recommended!

This is a lovely place for food and drink, done up with shabby and quirky styling, despite being owned by G1 Group. There’s a large outdoor seating area and inside there are lots of nooks and places to sit.The menu has a great selection, especially for vegans and vegetarians. The drinks selection is decent - some of the larger cocktails come in gramophones, as an Instagram-worthy gimmick. The atmosphere inside is great - a good noise level but booths mean you can still have a decent conversation. The service was really good - timely, friendly and attentive. The only negative is that we had tried to call to book and had left 2 voicemails but with no response. We’re lucky there was a booth available for us on the night. I know things are busy but if you don’t respond to messages then you’ll be missing out on custom!

Absolutely loved this bar, we were planning on doing a bar crawl, this was our 2nd stop and turned into our last stop, stayed the whole night because we didn't want to leave. Great staff, and the vibe was just so friendly and fun. Amazing night.
