Loved our Valentines night out here. Fantastic, buzzing atmosphere, steaks are cooked perfectly, very sizeable cuts, and peppercorn sauce was amazing. Also the chunky chips are the chunkiest iv had and seasoned lovely. I would say you are on par with Miller & Carter for food quality. Definitely will return.

Lovely food and good choices on offer. A little expensive but for a special occasion , birthdays and the like, it's worth it. Service is trying to be rather formal but still too casual at times.. Sounds weird but at least two of the servers chewed gum all through the service. Maybe it's just me? But the food was excellent and I will return, and recommend it .

Great city centre location, plush interior, extensive menu, nice cocktails and attentive staff. So why only 3*? Because the steak was truly poor. I ordered medium rare, it was definitely rare. Was the same for the rest of my party, nothing was just right. Staff did what they could but the kitchen was just having a bad night it seems. The fact I was able to get a table on a Saturday night with only a couple hours notice tells you everything. Save your money and go to the Butchershop - much better food and in a similar price bracket. 1/5 for steak, 5/5 everything else, 3/5 overall.

Beautiful surroundings and staff attentive. Soup was lovely and home made bread was warm and delicious. Rest of the meal and cocktails were underwhelming - not sure if it’s because it was very busy.

Fabulous lunch today. Dined with my Mum and my daughter. Staff polite and courteous. Food was exquisite, cooked perfectly and served promptly. We managed to have three courses with rose wine followed by teas and coffee. Prawn cocktails were delish and chicken rillette completed our starters. Mains consisted of Scottish salmon, sole fillets and stuffed chicken breast. Desserts of vanilla ice cream, tiramisu, pear and almond frangipani. Teas and coffee was served with mini shortbread discs and Scottish tablet. Definitely recommended and looking forward to a return visit.

Attended having been given a voucher as a gift. Was very impressed. The food was a very high standard and the service was excellent. On arrival (slightly early) our table wasn't ready however we were guided to the bar area to relax and await our table. Waiting time was barely time to order a drink which was great. Our waiter knew the menu well and was attentive for drinks. We paid an extra supplement to have steak which was cooked exactly as requested. Highly recommended for a nice relaxing meal

Overall it could have been a 5 star experience but they made a few major mistakes.+ Food is good+ Prices are fair+ Staff is friendly- Went there with 4 people, only 2 drank wine. Staff did not ask who drinks wine and who not. Table was full of food, drinks but the staff did not remove the wine glasses of the people who didn't drank wine. In a gourmet restaurant I expect the staff to show some attention.- Staff also did not noticed that water was empty, so we had to refill by ourselves. You can't put a bottle holder next to the table and then let your guests serve themselves.- Staff started get the store ready to close while people were still eating (it was around 10pm).Overall a very nice place with much potential but atm I would not come back here.

4 course itison set menu, delicious! Great service! Beautiful ambience with view of the lights above the square, although we were seated next to plate return window.Portion size is a little on the small side but we still left satisfied. If you are used to filling yourself to the brim at a buffet then you may have to adjust slightly to this menu. Steak upgrade would have been £12. The existing menu options are superb. Recommended.

Nice place and helpful staff. Food isn't anything to write home about but it suits fine! Decent wine selection too!

Absolutely Phenomenal. Myself and my boyfriend came for our date night. Everything from the service to the food was excellent. The night we attended we had not one but two waiters attend our table, as one of the young gentleman was on his first training shift. He seemed rather nervous however he done a fantastic job.Our food was cooked to perfection, I am a massive foody and steak lover and quite frankly its in the top two of best steaks I have ever had. I enjoyed my evening and will be returning. It is not every day you attend a restaurant where the staff are very well trained and the food is amazing.Thankyou for having us
