I’ve never had worse service at a restaurant ever in my life. First of all we were sat down and waited 20 minutes before someone came over to offer us drinks “have you been served yet”. The place was not busy in the slightest and although there seemed to only be one or two waitresses, I don’t expect to wait this long before I’m offered a drink. We ordered our food and drinks together. Starters came out quickly, however there was a bit of a wait in between the main course, and still no sign of our drinks. We’d ordered 2 espresso martinis and reminded the waitress we were still waiting. I felt like the waitress was avoiding us, constantly coming over to the table next to us to have a chat with the two American guests talking about the city, whisky, and how they were enjoying their food, while not even looking at us and having her back to us constantly. Um, we’ve been sat here for an hour and haven’t had anything to drink? When our main courses came out the waitress asked us if we needed anything else, to which we reminded her for a second time that we still haven’t got our drinks and would also like some tap water for the table and vinegar for our fish and chips. Our espresso martinis came halfway through the meal with deflated foam meaning it had been sat waiting for a while. I had haggis pesto pasta which was swimming in oil, and the spaghetti had been broken up into tiny pieces like a baby would eat it. We never received our water or our vinegar but were fed up of everything and just wanted to leave this horrible atmosphere. I’m an incredibly apologetic person and have worked in the hospitality industry for 6 years, and I would never expect guests to have an experience like we did. I will never forget the horrible service I received in here and the general unwanted feeling that surrounded us. Also the decor is awful like we were sitting in an old folks home and horrible overhead lighting. I can’t stop telling people how awful this restaurant is. Better management needed

Thanks for all your efforts – the group had a really lovely evening, and appreciated the personal touch of having their names called out as their meals were delivered. Please send thanks to all involved.

Went to Windows for Afternoon Tea on the occasion of my husbands birthday. We were shown to a lovely table by the window. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was plentiful and included pastry savouries, finger sandwiches and a brioche roll with various fillings.Scones with butter, jam and cream.Tunnocks tea cakes and a selection of small cakes which included Victoria sponges.Tiffin squares Macaroons and a gorgeous orange cake. Can't eat them all? No problem! Our lovely waitress got them boxed up to take home. Another lovely feature was that the tea was hot rather than just warm and we had mugs rather than cups, meaning that we could enjoy a decent drink of tea. We were offered tea' top ups 'but as each pot held 3 cups we didn't require any extra. The experience was made even more special for my husband when a special plate with Happy Birthday piped in chocolate arrived bearing cake and cut strawberries. A lovely touch from the chef on hearing it was a birthday visit. To top it all. The views were terrific! We hope to visit again. I highly recommend Windows Restuarant for a great Afternoon Tea experience.

The view was great, the best part of the visit. The atmosphere quite enough for light conversations and the staff were very attentive at the start of afternoon tea. The plates were adequate as we could not finish it all and the desserts and scones were very tasty. The sandwiches left a bit to be desired. The staff were very attentive to our allergies and ensured that all was well. However, the coffee and tea were a bit tasteless and the staff gave up on attending to us toward the end. A bit of an improvement can be made here. All in all its not bad to visit for a quiet evening with friends and a view (rainy day or not)

Had afternoon tea and it was very nice. Sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones with cream and jam, selection of small cakes and either tea or coffee. All served by friendly and helpful staff. Lovely setting on the top floor of the hotel with views over Glasgow City centre rooftops.

Enjoyed cocktails on the rooftop at the Carlton George on a perfect August evening.

The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Nice service, reasonable prices, fantastic views over the city. Would love to go back, especially in the summer and get one of the tables outside in the roof terrace!
Yup
It is on the 7th floor of the hotel. I am not sure if i would say it has really got a VIEW from there. More like seeing the wall of the roof outside and lots of other nearby building's roofs. Food was decent and reasonably priced. The chowder soup was a bit too salty with mostly mussels. Didnt see much fish inside. Probably disintergrated. I wont mind having my beef dish without a piece of burnt/dried spring onion as deco. Wine was quite expensive. The dessert looks like a ready made lemon tart from the supermarket but nicely decorated. Both husband and myself feel bloated and a bit upset tummy in the evening. I think it is because the tart being not v fresh - it tasted a bit too "eggy" to me. We have been there for a few times and found it is a nice place to eat out. Just not 10 out of 10. Staff very friendly.
