Artisan in North Lanarkshire

Hadn't been there for a few years never again.dirty carpets floor tiles needing a good scrub tiles in bathroom needing a good deep clean. Starters were nice but waited 50 min for main stew with veg mash stew was tasteless with veg on the side Green beans red cabbage and boiled potatoes?had tasteless mash with meal . Carbanara that was swimming in fat from cheese and very bland. Very unkempt look about it and food not good server was nice

Good food at a very reasonable price. Huge range of whiskies and gins. Nice staff and friendly service.

Had a lovely lunch today at Artisan. Haven't been since before lockdown but it didn't disappoint. The food was very tasty & the portions are huge - well worth the money. The staff are so nice & helpful. We'll definitely be back soon.

Meal was lovely, despite living here my whole life, I'd never been! Lunch was value for money and good quality. Waiting staff were attentive. Fish was in a lovely like tempura type batter! Really liked it!

One of our go to eateries. Always satisfies. New (to us) waiting staff, maintain good, attentive service. Food, excellent as always. However, menu needs updating, more variety, with an 'Artisan twist'. Pleased that the selection of whiskies continues to expand.

The food is great, as is the selection of gin and whiskies, and the pricing is beyond reasonable.The business has also clearly taken the needed precautions in relation to current restrictions, we felt very safe during our most recent visit.

Great wee night out with my favourite girls. Food was amazing and portions were large. Stayed on and had drinks in the snug. As it was a Tuesday night owner's were busy packing, like Christmas elves, there amazing whisky to get them out to customers. However, they were not too busy to chat and make you feel welcome. A gem of a place.

Artisan has some lovely food and frequently very large portions. I like the food and would recommend it just for that.The star of the show though is their whisky collection and the incredible knowledge of their staff. From single casks to hand fills there is an amazing opportunity to explore different whisky tastes all at a very reasonable price. As a whisky fan this is a must go place, even just to admire what's not for sale. Been multiple times and will be back. Chef fully deserves his award for whisky guru but the other barman was impressive also.

I very seldom give a bad review and considering all the other good reviews makes me wonder if I have busted a parallel universe Artisan? Now I know why Gordon Ramsay goes off the rails at people who can’t see past their own noses to work out what is wrong with their restaurant. So very disappointed tonight at what should have been a whisky lovers paradise. First impressions very poor, carpets dirty and torn and obviously have been lifted in the upper seating area but just leaving the tired and dirty looking tiles. Service reasonable and order taken politely but no effort made to promote any whiskies. Odd. Chicken starters were good my sons said, I skipped one. Main course “Artisan” burgers were homemade, so some kudos for that, but they were too dense and dry, and presented in a really unappealing way (an old bar tray?). Haggis with creamy mash and peppercorn sauce , even worse. A soup bowl equivalent of sauce separately from the haggis and mash. My youngest said the mash was terrible. I think “creamy” must have a different meaning to the chef. I had a taste and would say it was mashed with water if anything. Yuk. And what the hell am I supposed to do with all that sauce. Can dessert or a whisky flight (£12.95 for choice of 4 from whisky choice of the month) redeem things?? No. Belgian waffle and ice cream had a blackened waffle obviously burnt in the toaster but was served face down so my youngest didn’t notice until he got to near the middle. We turned it over and couldn’t believe it. Whisky flight was ridiculous. My son ordered this and was told to choose from 4 on the barrel table - mostly liqueurs and weird stuff, Unicum is a Hungarian Jaegermeister style drink?!? There were two decent malts the rest was terrible. I took a look into the “snug” to see if it was worth a last ditch redemption. But seeing all the rubbish and boxes made me decide against. I had been planning to book this for my group of 10 whisky sharing buddies , but sadly I won’t be. What a shame. Waiting staff at least were trying their best and did deduct the burnt waffle from the bill as I asked.

Wonderful wee gem of a restaurant on Wishaw High Street. The most amazing whisky collection I've ever seen and the food is great. Family friendly too.
